Just received my 4000 and everything is working except for ISO DVDs created with Avid Edition. The DVDs play fine in DVD players but the ISO images don't play at all on the 4000. I just get a black screen.

I pulled down a copy of DVD Shrink and let it recreate the ISO image of the DVD. It had no problems reading the ISO image or recreating the ISO.

Now when I select the recreated ISO file it plays it but the following problems occured:

The 15 second menu music plays in 3 or 4 seconds.
After selecting one of the videos on the DVD and watching (it played without any problem), when I went back to the menu the player shutoff!

At first I thought I had hit the power button but I tried it a second time and the unit turned off again while just on the menu screen with the fast playing music.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like FW bugs with ISO files.
The fact it doesn't support Avid is because avid does special things to ISO
files. Created copies with Shrink should mostly work fine but in some cases
indeed cuase menus to block or the player to react a little weird...

These are things one have to live with until the FW becomes more mature
for ISO playing. A way to avoid this, is probably using RAW DVD copies. We
think it's mainly due to the ISO format but off course, can't be sure...

I don't have any issues using ISO file up to now. (cross fingers)

It appears that the 4000 does not like the audio. If I remove it with DVD shrink then the problem goes away. The menu plays normally and the unit does not turn off.

The audio is AC3 so I'll try recreating the DVD with a PCM menu sound track and see if that makes any difference.
