I have had at least 10 hangs in less than 5hrs, I bought it today. Can't say that I am impressed, and see my other thread about the sound, but I must have missed something in that.

Whilst I am on the keyboard, the upscaling is bit a weird won't show full screen on 720P and 1080i files. Even my KiSS DP600 does that well....I grant the it does play all the files my DP600 won't, but no in fullscreen...something is rotten in Denmark (ooohh no thats KiSS), strike that, in the U.S or wherever Netgears from.

So far, I can't recomend this player, please prove me wrong and tell what I have done wrong.

Running:

Set your player to 4:3. It does the trick with me...
There's also ZOOM functions which can help to stretch...

I have no issues with stability (using it since 2 months) but only find the
video section a little poor in functionality... Fro the US we receive news FW
updates are mainly concentrating around adding gadgets and not fixing
outstanding issues which might become a problem.

We'll check with NetGear at IFA 2007 what the plans are...

I have hangs whilst playing mp3's, I managed to watch som mp4 and some standard avi without hangs. Whilst playing HD-material such as Superman Returns 1080i.wmv or Weeds S03E01.ts it hangs. The later ones plays without a hitch on my KiSS DP-600 AND the sound is Dolby Digital...

So, something must be wrong with my unit then, have to return it, I have lots of patience, been a KiSS user for three years, but I expect the EVA8000 to perform a notch over the KiSS player, so far it does not, it is at the moment 10 times worse.

Well, it plays some files the KiSS won't, but when it hangs or reboots. Maybee can play them for 2-3 minutes.

I found out how to get full-screen though, use the Zoom button, it plays it with 4:3 as standard, so I have to manually change it to 16:9 Letterbox in order to get a "full screen".

God damn, I am so depressed, why did I fork out $470 or €355 on such a piece of junk. :(
