My Tvix came today and I have been trying to transfer my video files to the Tvix from my PC via USB connection but I keep getting Windows - Delayed Write Failure. The hard drive in question is a Western Digital 16mb 1tb that I formated as instructed. I also have an external hard drive enclosure and I have the same problem transferring files over USB with same hard drive. Although when I connect through eSata connection there is no problem. Has anybody got any ideas what the problem could be with my hard drive or Windows xp settings stopping me from using USB connection while transferring large files.

Cheers

Hi

Perhaps update your system drivers/USB controller driver.
Try google your problem to find out if anyone else have had the same problem.

Sorry i cant offer you a guaranteed solution to your problem.

You can try also a very short USB cable, in this way I solved a similar iusse with an USB powered external 2.5" hard drive. Have you tried all USB ports on your PC ?

Don't no what to do will try different ports and shorter cables, but I haven't found any information on web yet I am off work so i might have better luck tomorrow. I've got another hard drive so I will try that to see if it exhibits the same problems.

Maybe the drive is on the way out.. or is faulty.. I would do a low level format or chkdsk to see if it has bad sectors...

Its a new drive and it works perfectly when I plug it in via eSata. Surely it would exhibit the same problem through both types of connection if the drive was faulty.

Try updating the usb or system drivers as suggested before.

I have tired updating but it just comes back with no new drivers found through Windows update, I have even web searched for drivers. If you got any ideas I am all ears.

Update: Finally figured out what was wrong, I had formatted the hard drive through Windows device manager. I have now downloaded Western Digital data life guard tools and reformatted using tools provided. It's now working as it should, I can now go to bed :D thank you for you input.
