Hello All,
One of the NEW features of Movie Flow is that it can scan you movies
like YAMJ but with out YAMJ ...
The Movie Flow New tag line ..."its in there" ... (((SMILES))) No I think that is someones elses Tag line ...
A built in database... A Import function for MOC users ... a Scan function ...
And the ability to use any and all of them at the same time ...
Movie Flow will allow you to have and maintain Multiple databases and of Multiple types. So you can have a Manual Database and a MOC database and a Scan Disk Type Database ... and you can have as many of each as you like ...
Each database has it's own configuration files and its own output directory locations ...
So you can have one Movie Flow for the Kids and One for Everyone and One for adults only ...
this will allow people to try out each type and use the types they like the best ... Thus the Name Movie Flow for All

Hello All,
I am using Movie Collector From Collectorz.com, I enter my movie cover art and trailers. The I export it to html and I put it on the PCH's hard drive in a directory called Movie Database ... You then Select HTML from the main screen and pick index.html and you can scroll through all of your Movies and view trailers With Covers and Full movie descriptions.... I finished most of the xml/xsl generator code I still have to finish editing the xsl/xml to add the vod command for the trailers ... I hand edited the html to confirm that it works and it does ... Once I finish I will post some screen shoots ...
I think it looks nice ... Works good too ... But dam I have a lot of movies ... LOL to get trailers for and cover art ... work work work ... (((SMILES)))
Oh ... you can scroll all of the movies and view trailers with just the remote ... sweeeeeet ...

Hello All...
This will work from your server or the Popcorn hard drive ....
Once you have the right XSL/XML html template loaded there is no coding required to make the files I have posted and Movie Collector is a really nice program ....
The Only Thing I do NOT Like about Movie collector is some time the movie art It pulls from the NET is TOO small for My liking ... So I have to go Get it my self ...(I wish it would pull trailers too it is a lot of work finding all of my trailers .... ) other than that it is a great program easy to use and does most of the work for you ... It searches the internet and pulls all the required info for the movies ... this is what I used to generated the samples I posted ... I only wrote the Xsl/xml Template so it would work correctly with the pch...
I hope this will help all to understand I only edited the XSL/XML templates so they would work correctly with the PCH browser ... and Video Player ...
The Real work came from Movie Collector ... Nice Program ...

Is your file all we need, or do we also need to purchase and install the Movie Collector as well?
After you run the index file on the PCH, will it go online and pull in the movie database info?

If you can browse HTML it should work
If you are using NMT firmware and browser it should work ...
But I have never tested this unit as I only have a PCH ....
You might PM Hi-Jack and ask him to test it ... as he has one of those units ...

Nice, I have been looking for some development like this for awhile. I currently use EVA8000 which includes the information within the avi tag and will automatically build the index with descriptions and genre, folder browsing.
It is for that reason that I have not moved from the EVA8000. I must set some time aside in the future to look at this.

My code is Just HTML with some special calls to the PCH to play the files...
You can download them on your pc and Look at them in your browser
and run them on you PC ... The Same code works on the PCH ...
Very Simple stuff ... Download it and Try it out ...

Hi Michael,
I wonder if you can help me. I have 300 movies, most in xvid format, those movies are store in folders, each one named after the movie.
I was used to "Mymovies" which reads from the folder name and automatically searches for movie cover art, plots and so on. I have installed movie collector and i canīt find a way o build a database automatically like in "mymovies".
In movie collector you have to had movies one by one?:cry:

I'm a bit confused on how to implement. Will each exported html file need to edited ?, or can the master template be edited to add PH playback code (VOD) ?
Would be nice if Movie Collector would support NMT devices directly, in the meantime, would someone be willing to outline the necessary steps to add the playback info for the PH.

Once you install the PCH Templates you can then generate
Html code that will work without modification on the PCH ...

I put the exportindex_item_pch.css in the template folder, but was unable to select it in from the View / Details View Template on the drop down menu.
Where do I get the PCH Templates ?
I must be missing something, sorry for the lame questions.

Forgive me, but I still don't understand what do you mean by this: I have no Collectorz directory on My Documents.
Maybe you mean what for me is called C:\Programmi\Collectorz.com\Movie Collector\Export by default in the software export procedure...?
Moreover, will it work even with music (I also use MusicCollector)?

My templates support iso / vob/ifo and avi and mov ...
And comverts the exported code to code that will run directly on the pch ...
Once you edit the template to match you file mapping ...
You just click the export button and you are done... Pch ready ...

As shown on my page ... the drive c templates go in the my document / movie collect sub folder for whoever is the login users ...
Please look at the directory tree on the page and please look at you own hard drive ... Every computer is setup differently ... my documents folder is different for each user login ... so as I do NOT know your login I can NOT tell you what directory to put the files in but search your my document folders for each user and find the movie collect directory and then find the templates directory ...
Just Like I said on the web page ....
Take the time to explore your hard drive and examine you file layouts...

I don't have any other folder than the "Template" folder in the program installation directory: why???!!!

hello missing Templates...
All MOC installations have two Template directories that is the way it is design
go look again ... If you do NOT believe me go ask tech support at Movie Collector and they will tell you the same thing ...
Thats a fact jack .... Keep looking and you will find it do a Windows Search on
drive c: for template and you shall see my son ....
(((SMILES))) when you can find the template directory you will be ready for my pch templates ... my son

I tried to look in the options of the software, but I cannot find any reference to that.
Maybe you could suggest me which is the default location or simply indicate if it is a hidden folder. ;)
Hello Missing Template directory...
As I said on my page it is under your user ID (LOGIN) on your system.
This is different on every Computer ... My login is Michaelt so mine is as follows:
C:\Documents and Settings\michaelt\My Documents\Movie Collector\Templates
Please note: this is NOT where Movie Collector is installed.
This does NOT mean your is the same ...

I just did a search and only found the Templates folder in the software installation folder on my drive C: I run version 4.74 of Movie Collectorz, really don't know what else to do.

Post two screen shots of your PC one of the properties window for you Movie Collector Icon and The other.... explore your hard drive and open the my Documents and Settings folder on you drive c: under your user login follow the Link below and make sure you click the + sign in front of the my documents folder to a - so it is opens folder before make the screen shot ...
C:\Documents and Settings\michaelt\My Documents
But under you login it ... NOT michaelt
Then post them here or you can send them to me ... If you want to send them to me please PM me and I will send you my email address ....

My screen shot has the "My Documents" folder opened, it is the "Documenti" folder, has I stressed in the caption at the top.
What you highligthed is a couple of folder I created inside it, which contains personal data, nothing to do with Collector. :wink:

So I can see all logins ... with out this I can not tell you which one you installed

You could have a different problem ... As I have never used that old of a
Version of movie collector ... You can Download the demo for free and see if it creates the correct directories when you install it ... like maybe in a different directory ...

The problem stopped me at the beginning.If I input pch IP and check it i got >>
no mapped drives found ..and if I repeat the check PCH I got AutoIt error line -1, Error :Variable must be type "Object". and tha it closes the app.
What I am missing here to make it happend?

Hi, I'm sorry for making such a silly question, but the thing is that I had a Tvix 6500 and used a program to improve the UI. It was really simple and consisted in inserting images in every movie directory.
Now I'm trying to learn how this one works and have a few questions. First I want to say that I have a PCH with a Hard Drive. I'm not interested in streaming movies from a computer since every movie is in this HD.
Let me see if I understood ok.
- With this program I can make the .htm file with all my movie links and info linked to the movies on my pch right?
- I just use my pc to download movie info, then I link it to the files in the PCH, I save as htm and save this file in the PCH.
- When this is done I can use the database with no internet connection what so ever right??
The instructions I read in this forum are really complicated... I dont know if i understood ok.

"The Import function CAN NOT be used While in Scan Database mode!!!" it says when I try clicking the import-tab.
I'm a newbie on this program but what am I doing wrong? I'm following the guide on MovieFlow website but I can't get past step 3.

When You configure your Database You can Have Lots of Different kinds of databases ...
Import Database is For Importing Movies From MOC ...
A Scan Database Is for Having Movie Flow Scan a drive for movies Automatically ...
and Manual Mode is SO You can Enter Movies Just Like Movie Collector ...
So if You want to use a scan Database Then Configure a Scan Database ...
If You want To use a Import Database Then Configure a Import Database ...
If You Want to use Manual Database Then Configure a Manual Database ..
Movie Flow Allow you to have as Many databases of any type ...
Once You Define the Database Select it and Then You can Get started ...
When setting up the confiration You pick the Database Type ... Very Simple ...

Hi all
Forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask or if this has been covered already but I'm trying to work out whether Movie Flow is usable on a Standard Def TV - or is it exclusively for use with HD (in which case should it not be called 'Movie Flow for People With HD')?
Some of us neanderthals are still using SD TVs and whilst I would love to be able to use Movie Flow, unless a suitable skin exists it's looking like I may need to look elsewhere.
I hope someone can give me some positive news.
