:?:

Is it possible to change the harddisk to another bigger, yourself?

It is most likely possible to change it. But the KISS 558 uses a 2.5" hd, so I guess it will take some time before you get a much larger 2.5" to a price that justifies a switch of HD.

Just think of the 80GB HD in the DP558 as a cache and then add a larger (and much cheeper) HD to your PC. (At least when KISS manges to add FTP to the 558 FW).

It may be a project for someone to route the IDE to an external port then attach an external 3.5 inch drive (possibly in a sound proof box)

Does anyone know if there a 147 GB limit to the controller? Also what's the speed of the drive? (most as 4200rpm)

Don't have my 558 yet :(

no it is the same as a DP-508
3.5" 80GB

KiSS DP-558 has a 80GB HDD internal.
We are not testing anything close to hard disk changes yet...
Should be possible but no more warranty on a 600 Euro machine for a couple GB extra... :-)

I would advise to wait for a while. :-)

Hi.

I have tried to use a Maxtor 120,0 GB - UDMA/133 (FLUID!) - 7200/2048KB and there is som problems.
it will format and see the 120 gb , it writes 131 hours of recording.
But when I load a film or a MP3 , it lags , and it looks like there is some codecs missing, whitch there isnt.
But shall I format in Kiss or on my pc??????????
And should I make a " hdd dump " from the Samsung to the Maxtor???
I have booted up on PM 8.1 , but it writes Error 110 on the Samsung.
Maybe I shall trie in windows and not dos???
