Hi there.

I've been trying to use the Webradio (using firmware version 2.7.4) for some time now, but all I get is "Parse error".

I've tried using the original formware (out of the box) version 2.7.4 and the Biker mod; all give the same error.

When I insert an audio-CD, CDDB works perfectly so a connection to the Internet is not a problem.

The Ethernet cable is connected to a 3Com switch. Internet connection is provided by my Windows Server 2003, running Winroute Firewall 5.1.3 (configured as a transparent proxy). For testing purposes, I briefly opened all incoming and outgoing ports on the firewall (confirmed using GRC.com), but this did not seem to solve the problem either.

I create a fixed lease in DHCP for the DP-508, based om MAC-address. With this lease, it gets a fixed Ip-address (192.168.100.20) and the Router (default gateway) scope-option.

Any ideas? What exact port number(s) is / are being used by Webradio?

thanks a lot in advance!

Paco

I have the exactly same problem. After installing a new firmware about a month ago, it wouldn't connect to the webradio anymore. Before that everything worked 'perfectly'. I haven't really looked into it, since I never use webradio.

I'll try and fix it, if I find out anything I'll let you know.

They'Re talking about webradio 2, I believe. Perhaps it'll only work with the new firmware 2.8.0!

So you could choose with a DP-508: Webradio or SVCD capability (See bugreport)

Usually I should cry not laugh!

Yup, it's Webradio2 I'm talking about. I did not have a chance to try out the new firmware yet, as I'm still working now.

I just got the player this X-mas, so I'm quite new to it. The player was supplied with firmware version 2.7.4. In the original setup it did not work. After that I tried several other Romfs files, but to no avail.

Thanks for the replies btw!

I noticed you mentioned you were running a transparent web proxy. Have you tried allowing your kiss to bypass it or even temporarily swith it off?

I had the same problem with webradio until I remembered I run a transparent proxy. To solve I simply added a firewall rule to allow webaccess from the Kiss player to bypass the proxy.

If you haven't solved it already it's worth looking at.
