I am proud to present some new features contained in this firmware:
* My RSSTvixer (http://www.binary-art.net/?p=591) program displays RSS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rss) feeds on the TViX front panel showing the most recent firmware available from www.binary-art.net
* By executing my IRSet (http://www.binary-art.net/?p=577) utility, it is possible to maneuver the on-screen menus using the arrow keys on your keyboard, press play with enter,
stop with space bar, control volume with + and -, and enter all possible remote control commands:

* IRSnoop is an other program that I have made for this release, which when executed, listens for commands issued by the remote control:

* Eonnemisis has made a new audio icon, which can be seen when pressing the info button (or typing info in the irset shell) while playing audio content.
* Over 50% reduced boot time (see here (http://www.binary-art.net/?p=571) for more info)
known issues:
- Using the samba shares with Windows Vista is problematic
- DTV does not work. Temporary workaround (courtesy Eonnemisis); cold boot strait to dtv by pressing the tv button on the remote
- Holding down a button on the remote does not repeat the respective command. It does however work in the irset shell
- 'System must reboot to upgrade the firmware'
This annoying message is probably due to a dirty filesystem. Either reboot until it disappears, or safe-mode upgrade.
Why is it considered beta?
The speed increase is due to to lack of cleanmarkers in the contained JFFS2 images.
These cleanmarkers are e.g used to indicate if a write operation during an unclean shutdown was successfully completed. These markers are then verified
during bootstrap; a process that takes a considerable amount of time.
I do not believe that the lack of these can be harmful, and I have not experienced any problems on my test box after 14 days of testing. That said, I
would like some more public testing before removing the beta tag.
