I've been digging around and reading reviews for a while with no luck looking for the answer to a simple question. I think I know the answer but I haven't seen anything concrete enough to finalize my decision on buying one of these.

The question is are the 'activities' on the harmony remotes(namely One and 885) customizable? Like, for instance, instead of having 'watch a movie' can I create whole new activities like 'HDD media' or 'watch a blu-ray' or something like that?

I know this might be a silly question to a veteran, but this will be my first universal remote purchase and I would appreciate any help.

Hi neilio,

I do not own a Harmony remote myself but from what I could find in the user manual for the One the answer is yes, you can create new activities and name them according to your wishes.

Please check page bottom of page 21 in the One user manual below:

Best wishes and welcome to MPC!

I own a Harmony 885 and you indeed can create and rename the activities you want.

Don't hesitate to buy one. Let the Harmony simplify your digital life! (as it did mine)

I own a Harmony 525 and even with this one you can customize almost everything!

There is a program for you PC where you can adjust anything for your remote and all the information will be stored online at Logitech, so you when you lost it, you can restore it online.
