Not too much descriptions on both systems and personally I wouldn't buy without hearing them , but if you out of money and looking for "just something to play this 5.1" :) then I have to admit that on first sight Sony looks better.
Things to look ... nothing to look , sound systems should be not looked at but heard ;)
Anyway , brand name is good :) , the more standards it supports is better, active subwufer considered better then pasive one , the more "areas" on equalizer the better , same with preconfigured equlizer setups.
Of cause the more inputs the better , digital and optical a must (despite common mistake digital gives better quality then optical) .
Higher wattage is better but it shouldn't be higher then speakers can do , prefferably less.
Analogue 5.1 input is a good thing too.
Well you can't put the whole since of chosing sound system :) in one sentance and I am not even "professional" in this area , for me the best way to select system is to make sure it have all the inputs and outputs I need , support all the digital standards I need (all Dolbies , DTS, ...) and most importent - soundsa to my liking.
thanks for info >> I have around £120 to spend >> could get away with not buying somehting with speakers as I all ready have speakers at home.
could I get anything decent for that amount of money brand new >??
works out around $190 if you dont understand english pounds.
I no wot you mean about hearing it fist > but if worse coems to worse I will just need to replace the speakers not the actuall amplifier.
cheers jamie
