Newbie can't make 6500 work!!!!

Hi guys,
Please help if you can......
I can't get my 6500 to work with my network at all.
It's wired directly to the LAN with Powerline adaptors.
I'm using a linkstation and time capsule to store movies.
The strange thing is my MAC can see the tvixhd as a share for some reason but the tvix won't see the either the linkstation or tc moveis but the PINGs are all OK.

Do I have to connect directly to the tvix with my pc via usb/LAN cable and program the network settings.

You need to configure a share that has guest access and map the drive then on the TViX... If you don't have a normal router where both linkstation and tvix are connected to, you might have to configure the network but since you can ping that part is already done...

OK, so i can ping both my nas and tc.
I've entered the share using samba //turnipmedia/mediashare/movies

Both the shares appears in the list when I go to videos, but when I press 'OK' on the relevant share it does nothing. No message at all. A folder icon appears at the bottom left of the screen. Thats it.

On my mac the tvixhd1 is mounted as a share.

Had a thought though, does it matter what format the nas drive and tc drive are?

Still stumped.....
