View Full Version : Power toggle with Harmony remote control

I have the BD Prime now for 3 weeks and it is an amazing device. Every single BD-ROM, BD-J and mkv has been working so far.

I also use a Harmony remote control with activities to power on/off and control my TV, Denon receiver & BD Prime.

One thing which is very annoying is the fact that there are no discrete power on / power off codes. What makes it even more annoying is that when I power off the BD Prime via remote control while it is still playing a movie or BD, the BD Prime does not power off at all, it just stops the movie and then goes back to the home menu.
I tried to tackle this by programming my Harmony to send first a STOP code, wait 5secs and then power off the BD Prime, but it still just stops.

Does somebody have the similar problem and/or knows a workaround until HDI has implemented the discrete power on / off ?

I'm using a harmony remote (model 895) and have no issues regarding power toggling. The Bd Prime even switches off while playing a movie or something else?!

A side note: I programmed the harmony for using it with the dune by my own and didn't use logitech's ir code database!

The other way around : the BD Prime refuses to switch off when I am in play mode (eg. a menu of a BD or playing MP3 music).
I always have to push stop, wait until it is in the main menu (10sec) and then it can be switched off.
This is particularly a problem for my wife/son : they switch it all off with the Harmony, but the BD Prime then stays on for the whole night and next time I switch everything on, the BD Prime switches off, because it toggles of course to the other state.

I think you can select under options not to send the stop command after leaving the activity. That way when you leave the Dune activity it will shut down instead of sending the "stop" and "power toggle" command after each other. Dune has time nessecary for these 2 commands.

I had that problem first too, but after removing the "stop" command it works out well.

I don't use the "stop" command of the logitech and everything works perfect. Maybe this is doing the trick!
Another solution could be to increase the timing between the "stop" and "power off" command on the logitech. If both commands are sent to quick, the bd prime might ignore the second one?! Just guessing...

Wrong! I said i would never coming back if the behaviour wouldn't change. But the behaviour changed and so i'm back!

But don't you think this is a little bit offtopic?
