I really want/need the Auto framerate synchronisation feature on my HD Mini 1.1. Is it likely to be available in the hotly anticipated new firmware?

Well, likely not. It is difficult to have such auto features if it concerns digital files of all flavors and methods of creation... It would innevitably lead to part working and other part not etc... Maybe Werner can tell if anything like this is planned or coming...

Sure it will be in, same as for Popcornhour, so new firmware for Istar will have same functions as A-100, A-110 and B-110 has.

Werner

Auto framerate synchronization is one of the new features in PCH's January firmware update.

Can werner99 (or anyone else for that matter) explain the new framerate sync options please? i notice in the options menu there is now the choice of NTSC/PAL/24/24p etc but what do they all mean exactly? i am lucky enough that my Istar 1.1 plays everything i throw at it, perfectly, so i'm not sure if i'll actually see any benefit from it, but i'm curious to know all the same.
Cheers!

Very interesting, thx sarednab!
I'm a bit of a tech-nerd and i have noticed judder before on certain files (i actually really hate it!). Unfortunately my Sony KDFE50A12U doesn't support 24fps so i guess i select NTSC/PAL and just leave it at that.

Loving the Resume function now, for me this is the most useful new addition, although it's hard to know exactly what else has been changed as there is no changelog on Istar's website.
