Anyone had any luck/experience of playing DTS-HD audio using the M31A.
The Egreat recognises my sample file as a DTS-MA file but my Amp (RX-V3800) only outputs the audio as straight DTS and not as DTS-HD . EGreat firmware is up to date and i've tried the settings on the Egreat and Yammy, any ideas please :)

Isn't the eGreat M31A not HDMI 1.1 meaning it does not support HD audio...

Ok I'm confused now, it seems the M31A is only HDMI 1.1, but according to the HDMI site http://www.hdmi.org/learningcenter/kb.aspx#16 (hdmi versions) HDMI 1.1 should be ok for DTS-HD . This PDF file from DTS www.dts.com/DownloadDocument.aspx?q=a7beda1e-cfe6-4ca4-b6b2-cda9554bb6a5 - seems to say that I can play DTS-HD but not DTS-HD Master. All very confusing

It is also impossible to have a hd audio codec in a mkv format. You have to convert it to flac first.

Basically it is a pain in the you know what, rendering hdmi 1.3 completely useless on an mnt.

Also, its almost impossible to find movies posted with hd audio.

Ah ok thanks I assumed it was only HDMI 1.1 that was the problem. So it looks like Blu Ray for me if I want HD audio
