View Full Version : Tvix 4100 and Synology DS508 .pdf file?
Hey Everyone. I have a DS508 on the way and a while back I remember seeing a very extensive .pdf file showing how to use the DS508 and 4100 together. Been digging and digging here, and I can`t find the sucker.
Can anyone help and point me in the right direction??
Thanks in advance.

Likely to be in this forum section.
Hey Hi-Jack. Thanks... but I didn't have much luck finding that guide, who knows.. maybe it was all in my head.
Well, I got my DS508. Loaded 5 x 1.5TB... and went Raid 5. And to my complete surprise I actually have my computer talking to the DS508! Amazing for me. So yesterday I transfered all my latest HD files over (sweet to have over 5TB of room now). That job is done. Now the next big step is getting the 508 to actually talk to my 4100!
Now before I go too far want to make sure that I have the basic set-up correct. Like I said, complete idiot here in terms of Networking and the like.
PC in one room. DS508 (connected via Ethernet in the other room). It talks, I can transfer files and the like. Now I have the 4100 connected via Ethernet directly from the second connector in the back of the DS508.
Is that the connections I should use? Or do I have to send a cable from my TVIX to the router?? (Rather not have to run another cable all the way back here).
Baby steps... baby steps.
