View Full Version : Autorun+Shuffle not working

My goal is to just switch my unit on, and have my songs played randomly

I created the directory \Autorun where I copied a dozen mp3 files (same with jpg files) as a test.
I activated autorun in Setup Misc Autorun menu, setting it to “Random”

When I boot the TViX it plays those dozen songs (pictures) correctly, but in an alphabetic order and not randomly

Any idea?

Seems like the autorun in thact case functions (your title got me on the wrong foot there). The shuffle might indeed not work. Did you try if it works on normal playback if done manually? In that case it's a bug, or a missing feature...

Nicola,

Which FW are you using as this feature has not worked in the last few FW's!!

1.3.110 if my memory is correct was the last one it worked correctly for.

Yes it works perfectly if used manually

I’m using 1.3.129, so this may be the problem
Is it something you tested yourself or is it a known bug?

I use Autorun all the time (or i did do!) i have reported it, but it wont do any harm if an extra person reports it as well.

Although I'm not currently using (1.3.129) i did until the latest FW was released I'd hoped that this would solve the problem but it did not. The only solution is to downgrade unless you use extra features (in recent FW's) like thumbnails for photos then its a trade off I'm afraid, either lose the features or live with going into Autorun manually.

Not using much of thumbnails and similar. I’m a great user of FastFWD/RW/Jump which I know have been improved in recent firmwares.
Anyway… autorun/random sounds as a very nice feature and I think I will downgrade for a while
