View Full Version : Buy-in Units information... (Update 3: FINAL)
Hi folks, we today received information the production and shipment of our buy-in units is delayed for at least a week. We'll be following the process and as promised mail you as soon the units are on their way for processing which now seems to happen next week...
Stay tuned...
We will update this thread whenever an update applies!!
Update 2:
We today got informed the units should be ready somehwere next week before they can ship towards us due to another slight delay in deliveries. This means, so far, the processing will only commence by 21 - 25 September for the MPC buy-in units. See it on the positive side as by then several updates have applied again which are necessary to mature the unit...
Update 3:
Hi guys, we just got notice the units will be picked up on Monday so processing will start later today / monday by Divxplayer. We have arranged with Divxplayer to get the fastest shipping going to get the units here so we can send them out before next week Friday if customs does not hold the shipment back to long... (thx to Divxplayer as it costs him more money :-) )
So this means, later today or Monday you can process your order. We recommend you completing the order as soon as possible to get a complete overview and not drawn in checkups of who did or did not order... We allow a reasonable time to complete the order (total 14 days after shipping date Monday by PoPCorn Hour) however recommend doing it soonest possible as we will "pre-pare" the shipping labels to react quick once the units have arrived.
That said, I hope you all enjoy your purchase under this special arrangement from PCH, MPC and Divxplayer who is again facilitating us with all his services.
This doesn't come as a big surprise. Over the last couple of weeks there were a lot of clues on the Internet that suggested this. I don;t know if this is a logists problem, or a technical problem, but I rather wait a few weeks and have a good player than having one now that has hardware problems.
Hi-Jack,
please advise if the above delay with the first batch have an effect on
the delivery for the 100 lucky untis to be delivered with the discount
from divxplayer ?

popcornhoursales informed that:
The delay is caused due to packaging box issue. In order to make sure the packaging box will not be damage in delivery, we have no choice but to delay to 9th of September.

Please do not send PM causing me to reply there and then post the same up here...
The delay counts for all deliveries... even ours... (think i misread your PM before as I read it as "will the price be the same after this delay)...
i'll be away all next week with no email / internet access, i hope there'll be a few days grace to reply to the divxplayer mail.....
Hey Hi-Jack, will this also slow down mpcclub's ability to get the final build for review?
^^^That's a good question! Would love to at least be able to read a review while waiting :)
It's mentioned on divxplayer.nl web-store that :
DivXPlayer.nl will receive a small quantity of C200 players 2nd week of September. (apr. 50-100 units) that all are sold out. The next delivery to us will be 1st week of October.
http://www.divxplayer.nl/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=73&products_id=1937
So, we'll not receive units before the end of the next week
At least you get informed on the status :-) Look at the birhgt side... it's only a week, could have been more...
yeah but still no confirmation mail from Divx :(
It is hard to wait. Divx is probably waiting with the link till it has finally arrived.
If they send the order link earlier you have to pay earlier and then the people are complaining that they have paid but they have not sent the player.
So please wait for the link and till then you have your money in your pocket ;)
I going to a vacation for some days to Montenegro from the beginning of the next week :D Not 100 % sure that I’ll have internet there and will be able to place my order on that time. To have a good rest I would like to complete this project before completion of this week and dream about c-200 on the way to my home
:D
So as for me it's better to pay now but i have no such possiblity as there is no link for payment
As for me it's very strange but we have no information about the shipment so far. But on the same time there are some reports
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=27366&pid=242255#pid242255
that some units already delivered to the resellers.
If it’s not a delay from divxplayer.nl not quite understand the policy of popcorn hours sales marketing strategy. It seems to me that if the product is good it’s better to sell to the clubbers first and clubbers will support sales by their opinions.
Updated, see first thread.

Excellent news! :(
Is it becouse today is 09/09/09 :?:
So in the end it will be october - as listed on other sites.
I find it strange that shipments to Norway seemed to have been possible without problems - whilst the rest of the world is delayed. What is so special about the shop in Norway?
There are several people on the networkmediatank forum who received the units last week.
Guess we will just have to wait. The longer the wait, the greater the expectations 8)
HiJack when will review be out?
Hmm to bad all in all together this is a 1 month delay, disappointing.
Hope it will not be delayed even further
Trying to be optimist, but as the first batches missed us due to general delay probably batch for MPCClub will be available the same time as the local resellers will start sales in Russia
Hi-Jack!
Did you do your yesterday "update 2" basing on the information about coming delay of the undermentioned today's announce of popcornhour sales?
Or due to delay for some days as undermentioned the shipment of MPC buy-in units also will be delayed for some days from 21-25 September as you mentioned yesterday?
RE: 11th September 2009 Batch

Seems this is because a other delay because the first batch has be rescheduled again to 17th september because of sharp casing edges.
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=27509&pid=243689#pid243689
We've checked into this with Syabas, the delay is because the quality assessment team found issues with the casing - there were some cracks sharp edges that were deemed could damage the customer when installing the hard disk, so there really was no choice but to fix this issue before commencing shipping.
It does suck that there had to be another delay, but looking at it from the other perspective, Syabas is trying their hardest to deliver an excellent product and taking quality assessment seriously, rather than shipping out flawed or dangerous products.
Media tank:A-100 & C-200
As an computer system builder they better pull every cheap pc case i ever have had becouse they all have sharp edge's.
I hope at least this was already calculated in the new delivery time for the mpc buyout.
Updated.
read first post on final stage of this buy-in....
It seems to me that it was a runaround from Syabas and no customers will know true reasons of delay of shipments. Production is a hard area of business, but bad marketing is worst of all. :(
Suppose that due to above two problems Syabas really doing their best now to make situation better. :)
As for me it's only important to know not so much a reasons of delay as true dates of deliveries. It's necessary to make a decision where to buy - from popcornhour website, MPC buy-in or Russian|Ukrainian resellers. :?:

Hold on.....
Syabas just announced that all shipments have been delayed again because of "sharp edges" in the case!

Are we going to receive "faulty" units from divxplayer now? :D
A few cuts are nothing compared to the utter joy of receiving your unit earlier than most people :)
Updated.

Thanks Hi-Jack for your efforts!
People! Please inform us on this forum upon receipt the links from Divxplayer.

Yes, the sides are made of Gilette razor blades...
The sharp edges caused the box to damage during shipment... The problem has been taken care off... The fact the delay was needed was deliveries not being in time or something like that...
Who cares, they are coming...

Nice work... many thanks indeed.
I received the link, but I don`t see any option to order with the additional IR remote (Popcorn Hour IR Kit (IRK-200)).... :?:
Received the link and placed my order :-)
unfortunately it wasn't possible to add a (slimline) bd-rom. Well I can always find one at a local computer shop.
thanks MPC & divxplayer
Made the order and made a SEPA-payment via bank transfer. It will take a couple of days, but I decided to pay via SEPA as I remember I had troubles with PayPal, as they do not like "bigger" payments, if one hasn't used the service before.
Thanks again MPC, Hi-Jack and DivxPlayer!
Got link and ordered (lucky it was now as Im off on holiday next week)
Many many Thanks HiJack and Dvixplayer.nl :)

All this ""delay shipping"" was just a conspiracy against you to keep you on your toes
And now Hi-Jack can post the review since i just placed the order or do you mean to wait until all early buyers have order   :P  :D
It was about time that the link was sent a day or so more and i would have 3 degrees burn since the money was nearly on flame in my pocket :?
A big thank you to Hi-Jack,MPC,divxplayer,PCH for this ( late  ) Awsome buy-in.

I got the same issue, then I log in (because I already pay with paypal before, and then my card was accepted without any problem)
My order is now on "backorder" status, what does that mean?
They always do that if they haven't it on stock by themself.
I got an e-mail saying, when the c-200 arrives at divxplayer they will dispatch it and I will get an tracking number. If they do not get the c-200 within 6 days they will e-mail me that it is delayed.

The review won't be made nor released in the next few weeks. Our priority now goes to the new portal until end of September. We made a news post though about what we think so far... Should be good to know, updates are flying in but we are not testing anything currently... :-)
I've the link also. But we can't choose a bluray drive. But great action !!
We decided in the end only to add hard drives. I know there was a good reason for that being we could so far not thoroughly test any models to pick the best ones. Any drive should be fine and instead of pushing a model, we felt users had better options to go with a drive themselves and test whichever works best for them.

Sent an email to DivxPlayer to explain, and got a confirmation mail
back... all OK, no problem for them...
So order confirmed... now just waiting :D
Thx to Hi-Jack and DivxPlayer for making this possible

That makes sense to me, but what about the additional IR remote (Popcorn Hour IR Kit (IRK-200) for the people that like to use a universal remote?
Why would you need an extra remote if you want to use a universal remote?
There is both the ability to use the IR and the RF remote controls. So if you have (for example) a Logitech Harmony, then that will work just fine and no need to order a seperate remote.
I actually think it's quite good that they have not offered it as an alternative because a lot of people might order it only to realize later that they don't need it.

No, it does not support both. To use an IR remote you need the pch IR remote kit. the c-200 supports just rf commands
Yep, finally ordered mine as well. Thanks to Hi-JAck and divxplayer.nl for making it possible. :)
Since I'm away on vacation between 20th-30th september I hope either it can be delivered before I leave or that the shipping company can hold it until I get back. Can't wait to get it though!

It won't be delivered before the 20th.
Maybe you could ask divxplayer.nl to delay the shipping? It seems safer than hoping for TNT (the courier service) to hold on it...
[edit]: i didn't read Hi-Jack's comment correctly...
"so we can send them out before next week Friday if customs does not hold the shipment back to long..."
So it seems there is a tiny chance we might them by next saturday. (19th)
Still sounds safer to contact divxplayer and ask them to hold on it if by thursday the package hasn't been shipped.
Usually parcels are dropped off at neighbours - so there really shoud not be a problem.
Should a parcel not be delivered they will come again and deliver it when you are home. They leave a piece of paper with a number and you call - all very easy, so don't worry.
I wonder if you ask nicely would divxplayer add do not deliver between two dates instructions to the delivery notes. Just a suggestion.
Thanks for the suggestion guys. I was contemplating on contacting them and see what the options might be. When I ordered stuff from Germany that got shipped by DHL they would hold it for me in their local warehouse in my hometown for a week or two until I contacted them. I was hoping it would work somewhat the same with whoever they use to ship this.
Still, contacting them with some questions can't hurt and seems to be the wisest thing to do :)
If shipped by TNT they will make two delivery attempts (and occasionally try to leave it at the neighbours).
If you are not at home, they will leave a note with which you can pick your parcel up at the local post office until three weeks after arrival. Should give you plenty of time to pick it up. (At least... this is how it works in The Netherlands :) )

Logitech Harmonys remotes that have RF would NOT work with c-200.
Because RF remotes does not have any set standards wich IR does have.
That is why no RF remotes will work for anything else but that they are made for.
From Logitech site
"Easy-to-install RF system: It’s easy to extend your reach and turn RF signals into IR commands your devices can understand. Just place the simple-to-install IR blaster and mini blasters near the equipment you want to control."
Harmonys only controll the Logitech IR blaster.
So you must buy pch ir kit or build one yourself if you want to use any universal remote
Anyone know which particular Maxtor drive they are offering as a HD option, there are several series listed on their site? Also I think it's kinda stupid not to offer a 2.5" HD as option too. Anyone who orders the 3.5" HD will not be able to install a Bluray drive.
HJ why don't they offer a 2.5"HD with that unit?
The IR receiver is not available yet. We did not feel like pushing back the buy-in and wait a few weeks for the ir receivers

That's a fair question actually. Would definitely have ordered mine with a 2.5" HD if the option was availble.
Also, I've heard rumours that it would be possible to fit a 3.5"HD if the BD-drive is of the "slim" model. Is that correct?
I would have ordered a 2.5" if the option was there as well. Dunno about trying to fit a 3.5" and a bluray in a 1 bay housing, Guess I'll wait until someone tries it and lets us know. (would you be thinking of using the 2.5" connector on the 3.5" drive if this is possible?)
I do not quite understand why some of you have such a problem with the drives. Why do you not simply buy whatever drives you need at your nearest computer store or online?
Then you can simply put the drives into the C-200, the whole point of the C-200 is that you can customize it the way you want it.
Either with Blu-ray drive and 2.5 HD or just one 3.5 hd - or whatever.
Installing is extremely simple. Plus, you will probably even get the drives for a better price if you buy them a t a computer store.
Let's be happy we can be amongst the first to get th C-200. If divxplayer now had to fit all the different drives into th players, that would also take time.
As for th IR, hopefully it will be available soon, then we might be able to get an IR kit buy-in 8)
I have dont get eny mail form Divxplayer ? :?
Is your email address valid? If yes, check the spam folder etc...
All mails are sent and controlled. There was only 1 that bounced and it's not yours... Otherwise, contact info@divxplayer.nl to have the mail resent.
Hard drives: I'll check it with them but likely it's already too late for most orders... I know hard drives pricing in Europe is so different country per country it might be a reason...
You did not order 3.5" because there's no 2.5" available right? Does not make sense realy if you plan adding a BD Drive knowing the 3.5inch will not be able to be fitted...

Hello!
Just to say thank you to MPC Club and Hi-Jack for this buy-in opportunity!
Just transfered my €299 to Divxplayer, let's just wait for the delivery :)
Regards
PhileasFogg
We checked with Divxplayer and following is the plan:
hard drives of 500GB will drop in price in less than a month since the 750GB option is coming. Combined with no tested D drives and no IR receivers, he figured offering another option in one month or so with the 750GB, 500GB, IR receiver and BD Drive all together.
There's nothing we can do at this time... Buy local solutions or live up to the moment we can offer such a pack update for the player later on... This is not a promise, just an indication of a plan we are pursuing...
Hi-Jack,
You're talking about 2.5" drives, aren't you ?
This sounds GOOD.
What about adding to the bundle the 1gb usb stick (fast chip) to play bd live content ?
Thanks again
Yeah, I have no problem buying local stuff. Would do that regardless with the BD. Just thought it would be convenient with the 2.5". Although I must admit, hunting down the right hardware for the right price has it's charm ;)
Thanks for the info!

There is no need for a USB stick if you use a 2.5" drive. The USB stick is just in case you don't want to use a hard disk...
Hi HJ, I didn't order the 3.5" Maxtor because I still have one in my old A110 if I need it. I also find it weird that Divxplayer doesn't specify which Maxtor drive they use for the buy-in since they offer 3 different spinpoint drives (both in 5400 and 7200)
I would have liked to have the option of a 2.5" drive though since they are almost as expensive as 3.5"in the small capacities (500GB 5400 is about 75 euros only 25 euros more than Divxplayer charges for a 3.5"). If you only need it for apps and BD live then a 160GB 7200 or a 320GB 5400 2.5" drive can be bought for around 45 euros.
I just hope folks are smart enough to realize that buying the 3.5 means no BD drive. It would have been nice if Divxplayer had a warning about that on the buy-in page. :D
We warned the people in the buyin.... that should be enough. If people read what we are saying, "they know"... :-) Adding all kinds of explanations and such to the order page will only cause people get confused... It's an "order" page, not a manual :-) but i hear ya...

Hi all,
Just want to respond on a few things in this post.
- We indeed did not add a BluRay Drive optional, because it is still unknown (officially)what kind of BluRay drive will work flawlessly, and please do not forget the C-200 not a standalone BluRay player, it is a Media Player with BluRay playback capabilities. It still always be a media player were some will build in a BD-Rom. So also no need to warn people when bought a 3.5" because the unit is intended to work with an easaly mountable 3.5"HDD, and not for building in a BluRay drive. Building in a BLuRay is at your own risk. (More about BluRay option further below)
- Regarding the 2,5” drives, we decided not to add that option because of several reason. For one we would need time to build in the drive, were a 3.5” is easily fitted in one second. So when build in, we would need a few days before shipping, and people want the units ASAP. For sure people will contact us to try to get their unit faster. Also, we learned from the past, were we offered all kinds of sizes, but people request another brand. We always try to do our best to get a good price, but on HDD drives you can only get a good price if you do a “special bid” with a brand. Also, the 750GB and even the 1TB 2.5” are coming, and the 500GB will drop in price (we expect)
- For the Infra Red option, we ordered separate Popcorn Hour receivers, and not the complete package inclusing IR Remote. When you have for instance a Harmony remote, you will not need the IR remote at all. The remote when delivered as a kit (IRK-200) is exactly the remote shipped with all the previous and current models and also most other NMT brands. However, they are not able to deliver them with the current shipment. We have the IR-200 (only receiver) and the IRK-200 (Complete package) listed on our website. We also sell the remotes, so we can easaly deliver with and without Remote.
- We intend to offer as soon as we get official news from Syabas about the guaranteed playback of original BluRay with no limitations and a minimum guaranteed years for key-updates, the BluRay option among others. Also, we will offer multiple options like Infra Red, Flashdrive, 2.5” drives, BluRay drives, Ventilators, etc. We will try to do our best to get the best price possible delivered. Regarding building in 2.5” HDD and BluRay, we will also offer a build in service, with UPS Pick-Up service. So people can have their unit picked-up, and returned within 48 hours with the build-in options they prefer. You will have official warranty when we build in, and we will make sure the price is reasonable. We do not need to earn money on the MPC Buy-In people, because in the end we hope to benefit from the things we learned from your feedback
- We will ship all units using UPS. (Only some Dutch deliveries that choose COD “Cash On Delivery” excepted) We decided to send by UPS because of the real time tracking system, the way of delivery (also Neighbors can accept the unit, but will have to sign for it and the tracking system can tell you were the delivery has been done)Also, they will try to deliver 3 times in a row, if not delivered, you will get a card with an explanation and you can call fourth a 4th delivery. It cost us some extra, but it is worth it.
- Also, we got information the units have been picked up, and will fly tonight. We expect them here the 17th. So we will do our best to ship out all units this week.
Thanks for that.
Unfortunately it was not possible to order the IR unit with the buy-in.
I just ordered it on the website and even though it will bring extra cost along I personally don't have a problem with it.
If you want the latest and greatest you should know that you will run into things that are not always going to be optimal an I'm ok with that.
I've been very happy with the service from Divxplayer so far and there will always be people that won't be happy.
Reading through the arguments above I agree with most of them, except for the Blu-ray drive one. One of the key selling points of the C-200 is that it's capable of playing blu-ray and PCH should know by know which drives are compatible.
I won't add one as I want a device with maximum performance and minimal power consumption (hence not additional HD and/or blu-ray drive), but I can very well imagine others might like to have all the bells and whistles.
One of the key selling points of the C-200 is that it's capable of playing blu-ray and PCH should know by know which drives are compatible.
Reading Syabas forum, they actually seem to do know... The problem is that only 2 LG drives so far (http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/index.php/C-200_compatibility_lists#Bluray_drives) can be declared compatible, at this point it's almost the same thing as having a fixed "official" drive and not the "put in any bd drive and turn the c-200 into a bd player" marketing phrase that they said in the beginning.
Anyway, thanks again DivxPlayer for the great commuication and organization, you guys really deliver :)
Hey i'm pretty sure that any IR receiver which can be bought for pennys should work with C200 . I have 2 or 3 such devices from my former TV Cards. Harmony Remote works perfectly even without using IR signals from original remote (only some secondary functions must be programmed directly)
In fact people who have Harmony and any other PCH now could copy whole remote to the Harmony software memory before selling previous model and after receiving new C200 they buy only rcv and everything should work perfectly.
Thats only supposition but probably not groundless :)
Thanks for the info Divxplayer :D
All units will be shipped today for the buy-in... Tracking will be provided... :-)
If you mailed Divxplayer, this is your answer, they will not reply on our advice...
So my player will probably arrive on monday. My LG Blu-ray drive and 2.5 HD are desperately waiting to be built in and used.
Thanks for the info - and the buy-in!
I hope they will provide my reseller with the players very soon. I am done waiting.
And of course just before the weekend. Damn.
Just got the tracking number from Divxplayer. Will be send to me in the Netherlands by UPS.
So monday in my house I think.

Nice way to start the weekend along with MPC return!
That's some great organisation right there. :D
Still waiting on my tracking data dammit lol :)

Yes I know, but you provide my reseller. That's what I mean.
Hmm i didn't get an ups tracking number and also my order is still listed as backorder on the www.dvixplayer.nl hope this doesn't mean i missed out )-:
If you did not receive tracking either not all units are sent out in time as we tried, the payment is not processed, it's a pickup at Divxplayer or they will be sent monday morning... the status "backorder" means nothing for the buy-in...

I didn't receive a tracking number, but i think that's because my package will be send as COD and not with UPS.
Congratulations with the new beautiful site !
I also used cash on delivery so that could be it, maybe those will go with tnt as cod can only be done in the Netherlands any way's .
Hoping this will mean it will still be a Monday delivery :)
I received my trackingnumber very nicely. It states monday delivery, I was hoping it would be tomorow (because i'm at work on monday and can't receive the shipment :-( )

COD indeed leaves Monday by TNT, so delivery one day later. We will change the BACKORDER status to SHIPPED today. We shipped all units were paid for. If you have not received any tracking info, please mail us about it. I will be monitoring till 17.00 my mail. It could be SPAM filter (Since tracking is send from UPS).
I also didn't get an ups tracking number by e-mail or on the page of my order on the www.dvixplayer.nl and also my order is still listed as backorder. Hope that there is no problem becouse dvixplayer confirmed that my payment was received in time.

Check you mail, also yours was send.
Also, we updated the STATUS of all orders shipped. We only had made one mistake. One UK customer did not got a unit, and will be shipped Monday. (already informed him.. Sorry) So, we also have an order AND payment were we do not can verify if he/she is a MPC CLUB member... Despite the CLEAR instructions we still receive orders registered with E-mail addresses different than the MPC E-mail... Some send us (as requested) the details, but some (****) did not... So, IF you have paid, IF you have an account and you see BACKORDER, something is wrong. In fact, all BACKORDERS should be out of the system for MPC members... Only WAITING FOR PAYMENT should be there, or UPS READY TO PICK UP... And yes, 3x COD are still on BACKORDER. We try to get them out Monday.
Thnx for the update, i am 1 of the cod persons. Let me know if u indeed managed to send it on Monday so i can make sure someone is home Tuesday :)

Finally, tomorrow I will receive my C-200. I am very happy now. I hope I am still happy when testing it without cursing and swearing because it's not doing what it's supposed to do. We'll see.
It's here ! UPS delivered it an hour ago.
Update: I've got it working. Do not use the online firmware update, it ends with an error. I downloaded the newest firmware and put it on an usb stick. First update to the stepstone firmware and after this to the newest firmware.
I wanted to set the c200 to a fixed ip address but i couldn't. Anyone ?

Stepstone firmware? What's that and why updating this first?
Stepstone firmware? What's that and why updating this first?
Have a look here, I wrote about it. It is best to first update with an August firmware ad then update to the newest beta:

Stepstone firmware? What's that and why updating this first?
If you download the newest firmware package from popcornhour you will find two firmwares in it. Read the README.TXT and it explains all steps to take. First update to the stepstone and after this to the newest beta firmware.

I've received my unit too :-)
Now i have to get the wife away from the TV to plug it in :-(
Now i have to get the wife away from the TV to plug it in
Oh yeah, seems I found another poor boy who's wife prefers watching ugly TV shows and soaps instead of brilliant BD movies.
Got mine too. Luckely my wife loves me and let me have my fun.
Mine arrived and I have already built in the blu drive. hat is a bit fiddly.
Updatedfirm and everything seems fine. Much faster than my old NMT.
Will continue playing - but, there is also work to do...
Mine is stuck in transit :(
My went from Barking at 21:58 (21st) and arrived Tamworth 0:39 (22nd) it has left Tamworth 3:04 (22nd) and I dont know where it has got to. I suspect it is making it's way to Belfast. Yours may be taking a different route to Dublin.

Yay, mine finally arrived in Dublin :D
Too ~21 hours to get from the UK so i guess they had some bloke swim over with it, should be delivered tomorrow :) :)
Mine arrived, too.
Tomorrow i will put it to test.
OK my also has arrived. huhuhuhu It will be longest hours at work for me today :P
@ Niall0s
Mine arrived in Newtownabbey last night, so I am hoping for it to be here today. It left Tamworth at 3:04 and arrived in Newtownabbey 18:38 and they say public transport is bad. On the otherhand we dont know where else the lorry had to stop off before getting the ferry over (there is no way it got a plane over).
Gilly / Anyone with UPS tracking
Should the tracking say on route to customer or something on the day it is going to be delivered? I just ask as my tracking info has not been updated since its arrival in Dublin yesterday evening.
I dunno maybe someone who has recieved there's could let us know. If mine arrives soon before I even look at it I will let you know.
Just been told by cboy in chat that it should say OUT FOR DELIVERY so looks like mine won't arrive today :(
Edit 1: They tried to deliver it to the wrong address, they knocked on my neighbours :( Getting them to bring it back :D
Edit 2: They came back, i now have it!!!

Read this:
http://forum.xtreamer.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=103
Yes, unfortunately, you are right. Suppose that I will have to pay additionally about 25 Euro for custom taxes and duties.
I requested divxplayer to use EMS but they reply that they can not because “EMS is not possible to get official insurance”.
Therefore I’ll pay for my c-200 from divxplayer 33 Euro more than from the popcornhour web shop, but 20 Euros below the price of local Russian reseller.
As everybody on this forum it’s interesting for me to get the device ASAP even in spite of the small difference of the price. Divxplayer shipped my order on 18th and it was not delivered to me so far, but today is 24th September! The delivery date is still unclear. UPS is not the express-service! It’s a turtle post!
Hi.
I want to order my c-200 but the link to divxplayer is not working. Please help!
Bnarturo
I really shocked!!!
My order was delivered to Moscow on Monday 21st September and was held by the customs. UPS even not called me to inform about this situation! However, during my call to them they informed me that I have to pay additionally:
38 Euro custom tax
42 Euro VAT
5.65 Euro custom duties
85.65 Euro in total !!!
Moreover, to get my device I have to go to:
- UPS office for invoice as per above
- to custom office to pay as above
- to UPS office to accept the payment and obtain the package
Is it an express service?
From time of my payment on 12th September till date of shipment I sent numerous requests divxplayer to use EMS courier services for the delivery my order to Moscow.
In spite of my requests divxplayer sent it via UPS and informed me post factum
that that they can not use EMS because “EMS is not possible to get official insurance”.
Suppose that divxplayer did their insurance policy at my expense about 20 Euro on sending and 85.65 Euro on receipt. Totally such insurance policy cost me 105.65 Euro. Is it normal? Is it a high level service?
38 Euro custom tax
42 Euro VAT
5.65 Euro custom duties
85.65 Euro in total !!!
Sorry for that, that is a lot of money. But you having to pay VAT and duties etc. to my knowlege has nothing to do with UPS or Divxplayer. That would have been the same with EMS.
I understand you are upset, but really do not think it is divxplayer's fault.
my unite is still in transit..!
charlie
Wow your unit has travel a lot :-) I got mine Tuesday (welch side of Switzerland :-) )
Custom tax was 50chf
Unfortunately how UPS works in Russia is not something we can do anything about, neither can we change customs in your country. Using EMS is not an Option. We stated outside EU, we deduct the VAT from the end user price and VAT is due according to your local rules / laws.
EMS does not offer proper tracking over here and not proper insurance. We always mention packages are send by UPS (we do not allow Divxplayer using anything else for MPC Buy-in unless local countries and neighbouring countries).
Purchasing the player from Syabas directly would have triggered the same costs for import, so does EMS although the reason you want EMS (which is slower) is that they often have gaps in their import procedures for which you are not charged with customs. Do not blame this on Divxplayer, blame it on us... We want fast service and we want assurance... Otherwise buyins become a mess if we need to track packages with everyone favorite shipping company for whatever reasdon.
Either way... we warned up front importing from outside Europe is out of our hands. I stick to what I said in the mail to you... I'm sorry you experience trouble or dissagree with how things are happenning in Russia. If you refuse the package and want a refund, we have no problem with that but we will deduct the extra shipping costs for the amount that exceeds €25 for having the package first to Russia and again back to us.
We will not resend the unit if you refuse it now by any forwarder again as we already paid shipping for UPS partially and we won't do it again. This is not a ping pong game so please decide what you will do and let's get it over with.
There's no more i can do or say...
Wow your unit has travel a lot :-) I got mine Tuesday (welch side of Switzerland :-) )

strange...!
i had to pay no custom at all to Richterswil in Zuerich - Swiss Allemand...!!
charlie
Don't say that to soon. Within Europe often UPS sends the bill after tehey received it from customs... They can have agreements like sending of the pâckages and be billed afterwards to not have stocks piled up in their warehouses... It's always like that with me over here in belgium...
This morning get information from networkedmediatank.com that it will be very small batch shipped on 28th September. The next shipment scheduled to 26th October. As understood from the forum the quality of the product is not good and PCH do their best
to support the customers with excellent quality product. Does it means that units from
c-200 Buy-in also not have good quality? If somebody can say that the device in not good? Where is the truth ?
Well, i haven't heard any complaints so far and i do have a unit myself and i don't see any issues with it... Early production is often subject to minor hardware changes afterwards (big changes we would not like)...
The buy-in was provided from the same batch of resellers and so on... it's always possible some units are having problems but in general, I haven't come across anything out of the ordinary... if there are any problems reported with the buy-in units, we will be kept informed...
