Hi all,
We have now decided to limit guest view access to MPC. This is a direct response to the fact we could not find an acceptable level of advertising the users can accept and dissapointing results for us because of the use of Adblockers.
In a first attempt we tried detecting adblockers and refuse access to MPC and it worked well but raised a lot of complaints. We then added a nag screen that prompts every 5 minutes one of the adds could not be loaded. Also that was shutdown by loads of messages... Although I don't feel we cause this (but your add blockers :-)), we now have taken drastic actions...
We have removed any disruptive google Ads now from the pages and integrated a few only in a better way and implemented a limitation to how many pages a Guest can call from our server in a session. After this the guest user is requested to login or register. We will not be changing the system even though many will not "like it". This is the best way to balance things and not cause an overload of images and adblocker detection on users...
As of today, Guest access is limited after which you are asked to register. We recommend for registered users to login and check the "remember me" option to not have to login every time. See attached image...
