There are already a lot of mediaplayers on the market. The latest development is that also tvsoftware companies are discovering this new market. Especially those who want to bring the internet to our livingrooms. For instance two american tvsoftware companies bringing their players to the market and want to see if they can have a share of the consumerscake.
First there is the MYKA ION who brings some internetservices to our livingroom. The company also claims that HD-material will play flawlessly (http://myka.tv/). DTS audio?
Another big company will come with a prototype on the market. Their goal is to be on every connected device in the living room. At dec 7th they will unveil their plans/player:

I think we are standing in front of the beginning of internet TV. We will see what it brings to us consumers. And if those new participants can have a substantial piece of the mediaplayers consumerscake.
