View Full Version : Bug with SMB Share, Port137+445,GBit support

Hi all
i have a very strange Bug. Yesterday i have conectet to all my PC and Share throug SMB, this day i can access only one Share from one PC, all other PC are show from Dune but without they share - wath goes on :confused: ?

My Hardware: BD Dune Prime with latest Firmware and 1GBit Lan and SMB Share from many PC and OS, Dune works with 100Mbit Lan, all Client dont have access to port 445 and 137 to Gateway and Router, all Client comunicate among each other throug the Switch. Note: i have changed the Switch but same result. I assume that this is a Bug because the Dune works simultaneously with Port 137 and 445 on Windows Network.

Question: its possible to clear all Network Settings from the Dune or Reset the Dune entirely?

137 and 445 are the normal ports to access windows shares - what is the Bug here in your eyes?

From what I saw with different mediaplayers - when you see the PC but no shares are displayed check whether your guest account is enabled.

check if the access rights for the shares are the same on all PCs.

All client have the same properties. I can see all the PC but i can only access to the share from one PC. Guest account is disabled to all PC, i log into the PC whit self made account eg. custom Username and Passwort.

I had acces to all PC and their Share, after it i have enabled the "experimental 1GBit" support to Dune and all works fine, i have restart the Dune and then i have access to only one Share from one PC, the other PC are in the List but without their Sahre - why?

W2k sp4 works, XP sp3 new installed and older XP sp3 dont work, also available Win7 but not testet. All client dont have permission from Port 445 and 137-138 to Gateway.

The only difference its on the Dune, i have enabled the "experimental 1GBit Support" becuase i had only 760KBs to my Share, with activate the "experimental 1GBit Support" 760KBs, then disabled the "experimental 1GBit Support" and now i have 5MBs :rolleyes: After this i have update the Firmware but no difference.

I can attest that the only Change is by the Dune, the LAN are all time the same. For this reason i know that the Dune have a truly critical Bug.

The other Bug that i have encountered is this: i have copied a File with the Dune (with Pop UP Menü) from the PC to Dune, Dune dit "remaining time to finish 4hour 30Min." , i have aborted the copy. After this i would go to my Share and the Dune did "no concurent Conection to the same Share possible". Although i have aborted the copy, the Dune dont have close the conection with the PC! After this i have canceled the open Conection from the Dune to PC but the Error message persist, fot this reason i assume that the Dune have openend one connection with Port 137 and a other connection with Port 445.
I have restart the Dune, after this only one Share from one PC are available, all other PC will be show but without their Sahre.

At the first activation from Dune ist work with Port 137 with SMB, now its work only with Port 445.

Still don`t see the bug, "only" a problem you have.

Now i have create manualy Shortcuts to my PC and their Share and the Dune are able to find and show the Share, the Main Browser from Dune show the PC but not their Share, i am unable to find the reason but i assume that its a problem with the DNS resolving because i have used the IP Adress instead the Name to create the Shortcut.

The Problem its not resolved but for this moment i can access to my share :mrgreen: , i think we can close this thread.
