back to 2.7.4: no subtitle with 2.8.0

Since I upgraded to FW 2.8.0, there are some DIVX that have no more subtitles. I was using 2.7.4 moded by ET and all was OK. Now, the same DIVX has no more subtitles. Downgrade to 2.7.4 and the subs are on again. Upgrade to 2.8.0 again , uuups, no subs. Back to 2.7.4 (I am patient man), and the subs are up: microdvd. No info of subtitles in info when I install 2.8.0. Is this something related with ET? Shell the 2.8.0 moded by him be as good as the 2.7.4 version? Or just a bug in 2.8.0? Other movies play subs OK with 2.8.0, but of course, without regional characters.

edit: more explanations of what was happening. i'll try some more divx before report this as a bug.

Thanks to ET for opening my eyes: not o bug, but different names for avi and sub. ET will correct the problem in his moded 2.8.0.

Then it should not work on 2.7.4...
Unless you use modified firmware from ET :-) that supports different file names...
