View Full Version : Questions on Non-offical firmware
Happy new year to all, I am new to here.
Am I allowed to talk about non-offical (e.g.badenip) firmware here?
I have some problems on opentvix and ctorrent, actually.
Thanks. :p

Hi,
the best place to talk about the Badeip firmware is the following forum
http://www.binary-art.net/bbpress/
as you will get a more quicker response.
edit: always update in safe mode (insert usb with firmware in back on tvix player and then hold down setup on the main unit then then power it on) and follow instructions

Thanks for your reply. Let me try to install the firmware again in safe mode.
May I know how do you install opentvix?
I tried on http://tvix_ip:81 but it never work for me
I unzip the opentvix tarball in window and then FTP to the opentvix folder in 6500a, is there any problem with this arrangement? Becos I cannot get my Ctorrent work in this way, however, I can go to web control page on http://tvix_ip

Hi,
please find all firmwares inc non-offical ones from the following link.
http://tvix.yakumo.se/files/index.php?dir=
download and uncompress to usb stick and then insert usb stick to back og tvix and run safe mode - this is the way i do it.

Thanks a lot bros, but the link seems not working....;)
Apologies. I don't know what went wrong with the link.
Try this one (http://www.mpcclub.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=74)
The http://tvix_ip:81 is NOT working, you can make this manually :-)
This is what you need to do. this is example for version 104, you can find the newest version here -> http://tvix.yakumo.se/opentvix.php
Do this and everything is fine.
cd /tmp/mnt/disk1/
wget http://svn.opentvix.com/tar/opentvix-6x00-development-104.tar.b2z
mkdir opentvix.104
cd opentvix.104
tar -xvjf ../opentvix-6x00-development-104.tar.b2z
cd ..
mv opentvix opentvix.bak
mv opentvix.104 opentvix

It is exactly what I am looking for.... thanks man!!!!
so should I use rmdir opentvix.104 to remove the previous opentvix first?
and the folder name I must use opentvix.104 (opentvix.version_number)? can I just use opentvix as the folder name?
If you dont have opentvix, just do mkdir opentvix and skip the other thing about
mv opentvix opentvix.bak
mv opentvix.104 opentvix
instead of mkdir opentvix.104, just do mkdir opentvix, and the do the tar command :-)

Yes, I did have opentvix (but seems not properly installed)
so I should run:
mv opentvix opentvix.bak
mv opentvix.104 opentvix
to remove the previous opentvix, am I correct?
Thanks a lot!
If you have opentvix, just follow my instructions, then you are all good :-)
