Straight from KiSS!!

The next general firmware release should include an option for users to have a custom KML start point on the ethernet menu, so developers won't need to hack their firmwares just to test their own KML projects.

This means, anyone can add 1 KML link (portal) in the firmware easily
and there's no longer any need to "hack" inti the init file...

This is good news and a very nice gesture from KiSS!!

That's great!

OK, so now when do I start the download of this great new FW

What really really really bugs everyone here is this attitude of Kiss! They want to correct the things that are already corrected by someone else. Take clock display for example. But I would much rather have them correct the things that others have no possibility of correcting. Instead of trying to include the fix that someone else has already implemented, they could concentrate on repairing the problems their new FW's are constantly creating. Would it be too much asked if they would at least post the source code of their SW so that someone else can concentrate on making the most of the SW. This way they can kick out all the SW developers in the company and just sell the HW. It will be much cheaper too for us consumers  But NO! They want to keep on re-inventing the wheel and forget about the carriage :(

PS: Don't get me wrong Hi-Jack! This frustration is not directed towards you. I know that you are just trying to do your best by keeping us informed but the idea of drooling over a possible new feature next few months is not very attractive (at least for me).

Hey Hagar,

KiSS had the ideas for the clock already for quite some time.
Even before AaronL started on his clock.
I think the KML links is a very wellcome addition for many.

Releasing the code will also advantage other brands that could use the code and routine's from kiSS source then...
We had these discussions and they are still ongoing... :-)
Don't think KiSS will release code anywhere soon!!

We all agree the 2.8.0 (except for dp-508) is the best ever and really good. They are working on a fix for the DP-508.

We can see your point, a little more patience and it will be there... :-)

This new feature is pretty unusable because with Tinystocks I can allready have 5 pages of my own. I don't need my very-special-coldswitch-start-page to be the homepage. Tinystocks is a good starting point to every direction.

What I do want or would like to see is working BACK-button, Favorite radio-channels by KiSS(not TinyStocks), phone number-like browsing of radio channels. And NTP clock that doesn't crash with everything else.

I think you miss the issue here :-)
Where does the TinyStocks link come from?
One would have to "hack" the firmware to add it to be able to access TinyStocks.
With the next release, you can just point to TinyStocks directly from the setup menu and from there access your favorites.
There would be no need to hack the Firmware anymore for this!

Deffinately a nice and good gesture from KiSS in my opinion.

Regards.

What are some cool KML pages... can you list "your five?" and/or any others... I just got Ezlink pro w/ kml browser and want to browse away....
