Is there any difference between the DP-450 PSU and the DP-500 PSU?

The DP-450 is much less expensive so maybe I can purchase a DP-450 to repair my DP-500.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,
Poulpy.

Not a good idea since it would be more expensive then a seperate PSU.
I'll let Langman have post a reply...

He's our main man on PSU stuff...

Check back later...

By the way...
Take the KiSS and go to any shop that does repair on tv's and stuff...
They will be able to fix the PSU at low cost... (or replace with another one)

Worth the try...

Hej

Why don't you just repair the DP-500 PSU? it would be less expensive. and how sure are you that the PSU is broken?

What exactly is the problem, does the player not respond at all? is it only the DvD player?

Was you're player a 508 MOD?

some more info please.
when you're player is a MOD508, you should check the Voltage regulators. it could be that they've died due overheat.

I agree, the psu is not ipossible to repair,
the tecnician will change some components
and bring it to new life...

Hello

This is not that easy as you tell.
No one hes scratches of the PSU, for testing which components are damaged the technikan has to extract every single part for checking it.

I'm going to ba an elektronican and I tryd to repair it and I gave it to my Teacher, too. After that, I stoped to try it.

Ok, It is possible to repair it but It tooks a "long" Time and If you can`t do it by your self or a friend can do it, then it can be verry expensive.

Well... Since you are a technician...
Just buy another PSU unit from anywhere with the same details and power... (or strip one from external power supply...

They are available in so many places rated at around 20 to 25 Euro.

Some links are available in this forum...

Should be much cheaper and much easier to do then buying dp-450 just for the PSU!

Hi,

As I already said in this thread (http://www.mpcclub.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=202&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=&sid=25bc387e595a8121889ba8981662747b), the PSU produces a high frequency sound and it trashes the LCD display. The DVD/Divx playback works fine though.

Was you're player a 508 MOD?
Nope, I never tried to mod it into a 508.

I just opened it once in april 2003 to make it region free, before the bootable CD hack was perfect.

Poulpy.

Tried to replace the component that produce that sound?
It seems so strange you are not able to find a technician
able to ripair that...if it was smd or something else, but
they are all normal electronic components...yuo can buy
them in all electronics shop...
I can't believe it's impossible to repair...
