http://www.mpcclub.com/forum/images/newspic/logo_synology.jpg After Synology pushed back several times the release of the DiskStation Manager 3.0 Beta, it is now officially available. Synology is one of the top NAS manufacturers for home and business end-users. The value of their products does not come only from their low power consumption hardware but also the features which are updated on a regular basis. 4. Windows ACL Support

hierarchy permission with each file’s explicit permission settings rule above inherited ones


5. Enhanced iSCSI Support


multiple cross-mapping between iSCSI Targets and iSCSI LUNs
iSCSI target masking feature: define various permission settings for iSCSI initiator IQNs to specify the access capability to iSCSI target
MC/S (multiple connection per session) and MPIO (multiple path I/O) provide connection failover and load balancing

The real stuff is there! Since a couple of days Synology has made the 3.0 version available officially. I've updated my 1010, which is now giving me the benefit of the improved interface.
