hi optik, please please please can you send me a link to all your firmware files, recovery files etc? I have tried the downloads (http://www.mpcclub.com/modules/Downloads/dir.php) but my machine has too old firmware to make the leap (I think). i have one flakey unit and one constantly rebooting unit so they need some love!

huge thanks in advance as I have been looking for these files for quite some time.

cheers, matt

We'll appreciate if you put the recovery firmware up for download. It seems that it is not to be found elsewhere on the web. Thx!

For those still searching for Ziova CS 505 recovery software. I was able to download it from the link below

https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=836981B3B9265CEE&id=836981B3B9265CEE%21161

It worked well for me and it installed the most recent firmware (i.e. 2.0.1)

Cheers!

Balls....my original version of the FW is so old that it won't boot from the USB. Does anyone have any older FW or an ISO CD of 2.0.1? Thanks

I have uploaded it from my archiv. Remember, only Nero can burn this ISO.

I downloaded the ISO file twice and burnt it using Nero to a couple of different CD discs. Put them in the Zensonic and turned it on. Same result for both discs types: machine hangs on second Zensonic screen as it repeatedly attempts to read the disc.

So I've tried leaving it I this state for 30 mins or so but nothing happens. I get no prompts or progress bar or anything. The unit boots normally if this disc isn't in it. So is there anything I'm doing wrong or is my firmware just too old to deal with this type of upgrade/recovery? If I boot without the disc then choose upgrade firmware in the settings then insert the disc, it just hangs on reading again.

I'd still quite like some older firmwares if anyone has them!

Thanks

Massive failure all round again for me unfortunately. There are two types of files that pavelpt has put up for us (or me!); USB Bootable firmwares or firmwares that are loaded from the Settings menu.

My machine (which is functioning normally) will NOT boot from any of the USB firmwares, and will not allow USB upgrades from the Settings menu (as there is no option on my machine). This leaves me burning CDR's or CDRW's. The firmwares that I have put on discs I then select them from the Settings menu. These look promising but as they begin to load they all say:

ERROR: Description file not found

and the upgrades just stop there. I've tried comparing and tweaking the sw-upgradespec-3.xml files in these firmwares but nothing seems to please it!

I'm pretty much stumped, unless someone knows something about what the description file should contain. In the meantime I am going to leave the machine trying to boot from the first link pavelpt gave us (the bootable ISO CD image). At least the machine stops booting and TRIES to read it. I'll leave it overnight then decide on its fate tomorrow...

Thanks for all the help.

A kind man in Sydney finally cracked this nut for me. You have to leap up to 1.4.2 to get USB firmware upgrades. You cannot go from 1.3 to 2.0.1.

I now have a copy of the 1.7 recovery ISO and this enabled me to go from 1.3 to 1.7 then to 2.0.1. If anyone needs the 1.7 please let me know....
