Why can't xtreamer make such a nice 23.976p playback like Dune? I would go with correct video playback over UI.

I very am greatfully that dune don't make a fixed ui.

The default UI is very clean and easy to read/use.

You can completely customise it. There are programs that do this if you do not want it make it yourself.

Why all the whining?

I like yadis very much but i like the other one even more.
I don't want to trade my base for an xtreamer , just a gui like that :)

Same here.
Dos worked too, but then came windows.
The GUI is quite archaic and needs to be cleaned up

The HDU GUI has been a major deciding factor with people buying it. The incorporated interface that can be customized and the ease of use using the icon system has had benefits for years. Surely this can be further improved but I rather have HDI concentrate on the more important aspects of their players right now which are the tuners, DVD audio fixes, native resolution support and then some...

If on the side they can get the job done to deliver a better interface than they already have, go ahead... but in my opinion the current system is fine for general use... It will take months and months of time to come up with something good (like NMJ from PopCorn Hour) so the danger is quick changes will remain within the video section only and cover only a part of what we want...

i would be happy if i can just change the first screen with the schortcuts, the rest i do with Yadis.
They do not need to change everything, just a custable front screen where i can change the icons and background.
Thats all.
I am very happy with my base, just a few minor bugs to fix.
Then i am very happy.:p

That is already possible by using the appropriate options in the dune_folder.txt file...

i have a shared drive that i share between the xtreamer and dune. When Dune explorer 2 displays the movie art, an xtreamer movie jukebox yellow folder shows up as well on screen along with all the art, which spoils it a little, is there any way to hide this folder on the Dune interface?

thanks

Neil

In the root folder of each source you need to create a file called "dune_folder.txt", together with your new icon image file.

The dune_folder.txt file has a reference to the icon image file that you want to display: "icon_path=<image name>". You may want the image file name to start with a period (.) so it won't appear in the listing, e.g. ".folder.aai".

The picture below shows my main screen

If you have attached devices such as a USB drive or USB stick then you may want to add the line "storage_name=<your choice>" to the dune_folder.txt file. This overrules the standard names given by the Dune.

You can't have the same screen because this is my customized screen with own icons and names. Click on the image to enlarge it and you will see :)
