Hee guys,

I know that there are HDX BD-1 owners who are looking for an alternative player. Besides the Popcorn and Dune models i also know about the Netgear Neo 550TV and the AC Ryan HD essentials as players able to play blu-ray structures and ISO's. Does anyone now about other alternatives and is there anybody who has already tried the Netgear and the AC Ryan?? And yes what are your findings?

Thanks.

While waiting for the HDX to take a responsible attitude in front of its problems...I was looking also for an alternative solution like you. Finally today I ordered the NTV550. All reviews point it as a better than HDX and ...specifically ..the best solution regarding value for money.

Second that, the Neo actually should be "it".

Even though I already posted an answer in this thread one month ago, I have to admit that the NeoTV550 is not yamj enabled. Does anyone know which player out there is able to play bd-iso (full BD, of course) flawlessly over the network and suports yamj? C-200 btw is not an option for me, don't like it and it is twice the price of the BD-1 or Neo, which is an issue when you need at least 5 boxes...

Well the AC Ryan HD essentials does. But i believe the Blu ray navigation is only lite. And it is a realtek chip.

Yes, so not an alternative as far as I am concerned.

Hello,
i had an AC Ryan, and i definitely not recommended. Yes, it does plays all the movies and has torrent downloading but it is not stable and crashes all the time. After 3 days i send it back to change it for a BD1.
