Hello. Today i have that problem, when i transfer a file with smartftp sometimes the transfer start and after few minutes stopped but the transfer is not completed and the ethernet don't work agian. For warking i must be turno off and the turn on the kiss. You have an idea why? I use the dracula beta 5 firmware because i prefere the firmware 2.7.4. Thanks
Hi, these issues are known to many.
Nothing much u can do about it.
I suppose you have a little network with a switch (occurs mostly on switched networks and not on Cross Cable).
You can continue the copy after rebooting the KiSS player by dropping the movie upon the movie on the kiSS.
SmartFTP will ask you to resume or overwrite. (Choose resume)
Sometimes you can copy few movies, sometimes this happens twice during one movie. It's the negootiating between the KiSS and the Switch causing this. (Cheap switches seem to suffer from this less then more expensice switches)
Hate to say so, but there's no solution "yet" as far as i know.
Regards.

I have only a cross cable Hi-Jack. Thankssss
That's strange...
I use a cross cable for months now and never experienced to have shutdown the player. The reconnections yes, but that can be automised if you don't use any user in the anonymous box and choose to auto-reconnect.
Check your local network card and try to set it to 100 Full Duplex instead of auto-negotiting. If it's already set at that, try to set ti to auto.
Play around and have some tests.
Only advice i can give... (sorry) :-)
Probably going to jinx myself here but here goes!
The 508 drops out randomly when running FTP (using FlashFXP and others) over a network using a Switch, however, it seems to hold the connection if you run a Telnet session at the same time (using Windows Hyper Terminal).
Don't know why and haven't done lots of testing but it seems to work for me. Anyone out there with a similar experience?
Hope this helps!
Hi all,
I'm using a D-Link switch, a DP-500 modified with a 120 Gb hard drive, and I'm experiencing disconnections while FTPing, even with a telnet session opened (using Putty).
Firmware 2.8.3 Beta8 from Dracula.
Lo poilog,
Happens to us all, no matter what you do...
One of the annoyances that have to be addressed in the future...
:-)
