one thing, with 1.0 glass you had "big plot" with dvd or bluray cases
with 2.0 this isnt there anymore? how do i get bluray cases then?

i dont understand the question.
the plot is near the sam only the fonts are smaller and so it is more place for plot text.
All original cases like dvd , blu-ray, matroska... are in GLASS 2.0.
go to setup, interface and use cases for movies.

true never mind ;)
I just installed it, and its quite like my adjustment from 1.0, only more perfectionised, and with series!
Great work man !

The only thing i changed, is backgrounds... number of row/colloms and color title for movies!
So again much appreciated ! Its perfect now !

(i saw you made the case bit bigger too, nice!)

This is just an "eye candy" question or request, but how difficult would it be to incorporate the colorized versions of the Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio logos to this template? Another thing that I think would be good is getting that Blu-ray 3D logo in there as well.

Please advise

That is just it. I like it very much the way it is now.
But I suppose there can be more than one version. Why not. :)

Have 2 questions for you for the Glass 2.0 template.

Can you make a grid and remove the resolution and aspect place holders?

I'm trying to edit your template for myself but I can't figure out how to edit the XML to incorporate the aspect, resolution, etc icons found at this link (changing the format logo is easy....figured that one out but not the rest):

Thanks for any help you can provide!!

Thanks alot!!

If you dont mind, I'm running into a snag trying to replace the resolution and aspect with icons instead of text like you originally have it. I have tried editing the XML but the icons are not showing up. Mind lending me a hand with it?
I have PNG icon's for all the aspect ratios and resolutions.

Thanks again

After trying out all the templates, this has to be the best yet! I always disliked the yaDIS 7x3 movie wall as the icons were too small - this is a perfect implementation, I had switched over to a 5x2 wall but this is much better. Great job! Also, the movie details page is the best I've seen.

donjuan,

The next time your developing a template, if it's not too much additional work, would it be possible to develop a version for those with older displays that have about 5% overscan - e.g. those with rear projection hdtv's.

I personally have two Dune players one of which is connected to a plasma the other to a rear projection HDTV. Glass 2.0 looks fantastic on the plasma but on the rear projection tv I lose a lot on the movie details page.

You may wish to try this GLASS Revisited - Overscan (http://www.mpcclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25852&page=57#569)

I did - in fact that' s what I'm using. However, it too isn't suited to a display with 5% overscan. For now I'm using Zappiti on my Rear Projection TV and yaDIS on my Plasma as Zappiti doesn't put much at the borders making it ideal for displays with significant overscan.

You could try my GLASS 2.0 HD OVERSCAN which I made specifically for overscan on my Samsung DLP TV. That may or may not help you. The original post:

And the updated template4 file only:

Hope this helps.

Just as matter of interest - can you provide a screen print from your tv - to show how much you lose left and right

No, don't have a camera. I have already posted screenshots from the dune. Basically I kept editing the template until everything fit the right and left sides of my screen. So where the text ends on the right and bottom, those are my margins. Same for the banner or cover of the movie on the left side.

I noticed you quoted evt responding to Glass Revisited by Fred-L. I see no response from him about my template.

Your edit inspired me to edit the Revisited version. Its quite a bit different to the std GLASS 2.0 - i prefer the Revisited version, purely personal taste.

I edit in exactly the same fashion - as i guess most do - edit/save/process/export/test....

Hmmm - thats - edit/save/process/export/clear-cache/test

I love/hate the dune cache.... I keep forgeting to clear and - no changes come thru - but its better to cache than not for normal usage.

Salut,

I agree, template work is very much "try and see" (especially as the functionality inside the templates is growing from version to version :D).

Thanks to Fred-L we do not need to restart yaDIS anymore.
I started to play with the TV Show part of the templates and it makes verifying the templates so much more easy (save XML and process vs. save XML, restart yaDIS, process).

It shows even small changes can have a huge impact in the user experience.

Thanks again Fred-L for your work,

A+

Template editing is so much easier with v2.1.7 especially now that you can double-click the image and see it full-screen while you are working in yaDIS. Before, you had to save it and view it on the dune, look over your shoulder to the computer screen and make changes.

I can't emphasize enough to BACKUP your template during editing. Say you make a change, save and test but it's not quite right. Then you try a change and maybe type something wrong or make a bigger change and it's totally awful. If you haven't saved a backup or written down your changes you can't go back to the prior one which was close to what you wanted because it's been overwritten in the template you just changed. Been caught with my pants down several times before I learned my lesson. Better to have a whole folder of named templates than have to go back and try to figure out what you did wrong (this happened to me once I got the hang of editing and made multiple changes simultaneously).
