Hello

i am new here, and i know this has probably been asked 100+ times before.

I am on the market for a new Media Streamer. The last one i bought is going back a couple of years now and that is the WDTV Live. Now i still love this player, but compared to todays models, its not as feature packed.i have decided to move that into the bedroom, and get a new one for the living room.

I had made my mind up on the Xtreamer Prodigy 3D, as its got a nice feature list on paper, and looks perfect for my needs.

After reading some information about the company (which werent so good, Rumours?)

i thought about what other players are out there, with same features

3D
Gbit LAN
300Mbps Wireless-N
internal 3.5" (3TB)
Dual boot Android
DVB-T
and the rest

My absolute max budget is £200, less cost would be better.

It needs to work as a DLNA-Server as i will stream the internal media to the WDTV in the bedroom, and cope will with being turned on for long periods of time, sometimes days.

I have never dealt with xtreamer before, heck i hadnt heard of them until 4 days ago, i know the xtreamer company has some bad rep, but company aside, its the player i am interested.

That player ticked all the box's for me, what else is out there?

I would not say exactly , but the player is really good and works perfectly! And sold a month and already has a software update.

ok, you say not exactly, so which one would you say is best?

you have tempted me now with the HiMedia as its well within my budget.

Does it support 3TB hdd?

i am going to copy/paste the same questions i asked the members over at xtreamer about the prodigy.

Media Server?
I have WDTV in the other room that i use to stream media to from my PC that supports DLNA and SMB file shares. Can the Prodigy act as a DLNA-Server? to share the content on the internal Drive to my other media players across the network.
if not, how about SMB-Server?

FTP
Does it have a FTP Server built in?
Does it have a FTP Client? i have a server based in another country with things on that would be great if i could download direct to the 900B rather than taking a de-tour via the PC.
If so will it support FTPS? (i guess i could always use the android side to do this task with a app if its not implemented)

Android Remote
Is there any plans to create Remote App for Android? that uses Wi-Fi 2.4Ghz to control the system, with track pad, keyboard and standard remote buttons.
Or is this down to the community in hope there is a developer for android apps?

External USB Optical drive
Will this be a possibility? to connect a external BD/DVD Drive to the USB port and watch content from retail Disc this way? To play the movie direct from the disc and not just to "file browse" the media.
If not this would be a extremely cool feature that could be added that i believe alot of the community would enjoy.

Continuous Use
How does the device cope after being left on for very long periods of time? sometimes 24/7 (after all if the media server features i mentioned above are possible, it will be left on majority of the time.)

DVB-T
Does it support DVB-T addon?
how about DVB-T2? DVB-S? DVB-S2?

if so, will it record?
Series link?

I know my questions are all very specific but before i go spending money on 2 of these i would just like to know a few details.

Thank you
