Hi,

Just for some tech update.

The latest thing in mediaplayer land are the Android 4.x hdmi/wifi sticks.

This could be the big thing of 2012 and can change the whole landscape of mediaplayer land as we know it.

These sticks come with Android 4.x, an ARM Cortex A5/A9 (preferred) soc, GPU, Wifi, HDMI, USB and can run any Android app, incuding market, browser and play all media formats.

Some examples can be found here:

You plug them into a free HDMI port on your TV and connect them via Wifi to your network. One major advantage above old mediaplayers: the flexibility of Android.

Some come with ir remote control or can handle 2.4 Ghz usb mouse/keyboard.

You TV has never been smarter :)

Cheers

Even tho these support many apps you get various problems. e.g. angry birds does work for it but angry birds is a multi touch game. So zooming?? Forget it.. Tilting the screen 90 degrees? No way...
So basically many apps should work but not always as you want it (I tested a few). This is a generic problem with almost every android media player tho.
