After all the fuss about newer and older updates in the last couple of days, we can now officially confirm
there will be no risk in breaking the player (with 1802 drive) using an older Firmware (created for 1612 and 1712 drive).
It only will fail to update if you downgrade, that's it, and considering the 2.8.0 update, which is the best release ever
for DP-450, DP-500 and DP-1000, we have no reason to dowgrade!
Also, the new DP-508 Firmware is expected soon, based on our last conversation, it will be available this week.
(No promises though!)

A little warning is in place though:
ONLY USE FIRMWARE DEDICATED FOR YOUR PLAYER!!
DO NOT USE DP-450 ON A DP-1000 OR VICE VERSA!!
DO NOT USE FIRMWARE OLDER THEN VERSION 2.8.2 ON 1802 DRIVES!!!
IT WILL PREVENT YOU PLAYER FROM WORKING CORRECT AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO UPDATE ANY LONGER!!!
AS OFF VERSION 2.8.2 THE FIRMWARE IS COMPATIBLE WITH 1612, 1712 and 1802!!
VERSION 2.8.0 AND BELOW ARE ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH 1612 AND 1712 DRIVES!!!
CHECK YOUR KISS PLAYER'S HIDDEN MENU FOR INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRIVE PRIOR RO USING ANY UPDATE!!!
I have added the warning thourhout the site, in downloads and Matrix.
Can't make it more visible then that!!
