Officially Dune players (without built in wlan) support

•RALink RT2870 (all Dune player models)
•RALink RT2880 (all Dune player models)
•RALink RT3070/3071/3072 (only Dune player models based on Sigma Designs 864x/865x platform - Dune BD Prime 3.0, Dune HD Base 3.0, Dune HD Max, Dune HD Duo, Dune HD Smart D1/H1/B1, Dune HD Lite 53D)

If anyone looking for a cheap adaptor can add to this list any usb wireless adaptor with the RT5370 chipset from RAlink/Mediatek. I have tested 3 different brands with the same chipset and they are detected and working properly. All adaptors associate to my AP (mikrotek) at 11n at an advertised 150Mbps rate (true rate not tested yet). The cheapest one bought was around US$4.80 and most expensive is US$11 ... a bargain compared to the dune air.

Here are some of the details of the adaptors from the player.

It is made the Russian enthusiasts a package for support of other USB WiFi
link: Full test package of v2.4.35-2 drivers for all Dune models (including for 864x, TV-102, TV-202, Connect, TV-303D, Base 3D, Connect 3D) http://rghost.ru/45342617

package description in Russian: http://forum.hdtv.ru/index.php?showtopic=4456&view=findpost&p=193286

*******machine translation from Russian*************

!! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! If the package is established, before updating of an insertion of Dune SURELY start from OSD Dune the dune_service_drv_pack_uninstall.dsf file and reboot a player! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

The listed below packages DON'T WORK with media players TV-102, TV-202, Connect, TV-303D, Base 3D, Connect 3D, but there is an updated full package

wi-fi_RTL8192CU_Int_Support_v2.31_public.rar ~ (8.6 KB)
The package for inclusion built in (in some models) in an insertion (but, for some reason, left unfinished the developer (ohm(s))) supports of USB Wi-fi of adapters on Realtek chips, doesn't demand existence of the system section.
It is checked with TV-101/301 (F/W - 121018_0846); TV-102p (F/W-? )

wi-fi_RT5572-2.6.1.3_RTL8192CU_Internal_Support_v2.3.24_public. rar ~ (1 MB)
The same that above + the external driver for USB Wi-Fi of adapters on Ralink chips, the package doesn't demand existence of the system section.
The VID&PID list of all supported Wi-Fi of adapters see in the archive ID.txt file.
- updating of 20.03.2013 - the installer and the uninstaller (dune_service_drv_pack_install.dsf are changed and dune_service_drv_pack_uninstall.dsf), is added D-Link DWA-125 B1 support, insignificant corrections
- updating of 03.03.2013 - Linksys WUSB100 v2 support is added
- updating of 02.03.2013 - Asus USB-N53 support is added
Max, Smart H1, BD Prime 3.0 (F/W - 121018_0846) is checked with TV-101/301;
Wi-Fi adapters: Linksys WUSB100 v2, Linksys WUSB600N v2, ASUS USB-N66, ASUS USB-N53, TP-LINK TL-WN727N v3, D-Link DWA-140 B3, D-Link DWA-125 B1, D-Link DWA-160 B2, Sitecom WLA-1001, ASUS USB N-13 B1

wi-fi_RT5572-2.6.1.3_RTL8192CU-3.4.4_v2.4.34_public.rar ~ (1.6 MB)
Full package with external drivers USB Wi-Fi of adapters on Ralink and Realtek chips, require EXISTENCE of the SYSTEM section.
The VID&PID list of all supported adapters see in the archive ID.txt file.
Settings of adapters on Ralink chips are described in Readme_RT5572sta.txt, they can be changed in file/persistfs-wifi/wifi_config_ralink.sh from drv_pack-2.4.3x.zip archive.
- updating of 20.03.2013 - Linksys WUSB100 v2 support, insignificant corrections is added
- updating of 15.03.2013 - the installer (dune_service_drv_pack_install.dsf) is changed
- updating of 12.03.2013 - the starting script is changed, D-Link DWA-125 B1 support is added
It is checked with media players: TV-101/301, Max, Smart H1, BD Prime 3.0 (F/W - 121018_0846); TV-102p (F/W - 130114_1511_b3); Dune HD Smart D1 (F/W - 120815_2150);
Wi-Fi adapters: Linksys WUSB100 v2, Linksys WUSB600N v2, ASUS USB-N66, ASUS USB-N53, TP-LINK TL-WN727N v3, D-Link DWA-140 B3, D-Link DWA-125 B1, D-Link DWA-160 B2, Sitecom WLA-1001, ASUS USB N-13 B1
Addon_RTL8192SU-2.6.6_v2.4.31.zip ~ 370 KB
Addition (to this package) for support of Wi-fi of USB adapters executed on the basis of Realtek RTL81xxSU chips, for example: Asus USB-N10.
Isn't a complete set of drivers, only replaces the RTL81xxCU driver with RTL81xxSU.

Installation and updating:
- to unpack *.rar archive in any place of the first not system section Dune, to NOT unpack drv_pack*.zip archive,
- to start the dune_service_drv_pack_install.dsf file in OSD Dune,
- to connect Wi-Fi the adapter and to adjust connection in OSD Dune.
Removal:
- to start the dune_service_drv_pack_uninstall.dsf file from OSD Dune,

Interesting.

Yet making another translation of the russian forum I got this content (as first line):

!!!If the package is installed, then before upgrading the firmware you MUST run Dune of OSD Dune dune_service_drv_pack_uninstall.dsf file and restart the player!!!

So whoever would like to try this wifi driver extension, please be informed that before going with another firmware update the wifi package MUST be uninstalled.

What about the speed?
Is the Wifi adaptor faster than the LAN (cable) in case of Dune. Dune does not have gigabit LAN, so the LAN speed is very slow.
