hey fclage...

...just got your ez-link running. i read that your server supports id3v2 tags. since i'm upgrading my 20,000+ songs library to it i'm curious whether it also supports the lyrics3 and the apic function of it which i'm putting into the the tag info.

is there a way to view those infos on a dp-50x or is it a problem because of the kiss' firmware?

thanks for your help...

Hi

Yes and No

EzLink does have the hability to read all ID3v2 tags. In fact, in previous versions, all tags were 'saved' in a field in each mp3 database recordset. I've removed that since some tags are over 100Kbytes long (images mostly) and can cause database crashes/problems. Only the most common tags are saved now in database (open "ezlink.mdb" for more details).

The information can be displayed on the KiSS player (in the future)... yes... All depends on KML.
If not, then all you got when pressing info when playing one mp3 is id3v1 tags from the player itself.

Cheers

well...do you 'have' to same the tags? i mean you don't read them on-the-fly? i thought you did. hm...the pictures i use are 9kb big...

when will you release the new version? my song collection makes ezlink pro run extremely slow until it crashes...but other than that i love your tool!! keep up the good work!

It has the possibility to read (any of) them on the fly... but what's the use since the KML isn't available for network yet ?

If the EzLink 'search' fails, check what was the file being scanned (in the manager statusbar). That file has probably corrupted ID3 tags.
