hi,

my conf : snazzio net cinema hd + dedicated mac mini + lan 100 full + files read by lan

the browsing speed is awfully slow : even if you organize your files by category, if you have 120 files to display you have to display each page one by one or choose a page number if you know it.
whatever, the display time is too miuch important.

did anyone tested a serverside solution that gives acceptable display times (in my opinion, an acceptable display time could be compared to displaying net files on a kiss - dreambox would be better ;) - but not waiting a few seconds for having a page displayed)

thx for your opinions and feedback

I find TwonkyVision mediaserver will display much faster, and will pull multiple pages in 1 fetch, which means skipping to page 2,3,4,etc is almost instant.

The drawback is that the page-size on the Snazio seems limited to about 360 entries. The rest gets cut off. IE, if you have 500 songs in a single folder you can only see and play the first 360.

You can ofcourse filter or list by album or some other means to display the remaining songs, but thats just workarounds.

The developers of Twonky know about the problem, and I hope they will solve it some time soon.

Please note the current version (2.9 something) has a problem where it doesn't list any .AVI files when used with the Snazio.

in fact i use twonkyvision with other materials (dlink dwg320 & homepod), and the .avi problem is not suitable for me : that is the problem.

thx for your answer and feedback.

TwonkyVision solved the .AVI problem in the soon to bee relesed 3.0 version
I have done some testing with 3.0B4 and can assure that the mpeg4 problem is gone now.
