I can't get working a TCPDUMP-Tool for the DP-558. Who can compile the sources from http://www.tcpdump.org ? That would help for many networking-problems and to capture the EPG-traffic.

Could someone help, please?

Have you thought of hooking up the KiSS to a HUB and a PC running for instance eathereal?

That should work fine as well. (If you can't get TCPDUMP compiled of course)

Yep, this will be the second best solution  (But I have to look for an "old" hub first...)

The problem is that you need to compile libpcap first and to do that, you need to use the --with-pcap= option for configure.

The question is, what pcap type do we use here?

No need for "old hub" just configure your PC for internet share and all traffic will go thru it.

An other solution for sniffing is ettercap from sourceforge. This tool can make the man in the mittle attack arp poisoning to redirect the traffic between player and router through your computer. After that it is possible to use a sniffer like ethereal on the computer to see all traffic.

And where should this 'ettercap' run? On the DP-558? On my PC?

Do you have a ettercap-binary for the uCLinux on the DP-558?

Never mind, I have connected my DP-558 to a 3Com 8-Port-Office-Hub and recorded the first epg-connection. I post the results to a new EPG-thread.
