Hi. Hi-jack..
i have a one question, what exactly mean macrovison removed??
Is it working on divx and dvd, or only dvd ??
i always thanks for your & forum members efforts..
regards
Macrovision is a copyprotecting on original dvds.
lo Delsa,
Macrovision is a protection for dvd's...
You probably know that when you play a DVD you can't copy the movie to your video recorder...
That's is macrovision, since it descrambles the signal...
When MV is removed, the signal is no longer descrambled and one can record the DvD as backup on videotape or computer (digital format divx etc... (TV-IN).

But current MV removal works only if you record/bypass on VCR , it still can't help you with VGA resolutions , however some research is done in this direction too and it looks like ( http://www.gooddvdstuff.com/kissdvd/viewtopic.php?t=3116&start=14 ) we have a chance to completely get rid of Macrovision soon if it's proven to be correct.

Hi,
Just installed this update and i've got a little? problem with NTP
I've enabled NTP in the setup-menu and tried to select the timezone CET (GMT+1). When I leave this setting it goes back to WEST (GMT+1). It does that with all selections I try to do. All go back to WEST (GMT+1).
Perhaps this is right, but I can't get the right time on my display, since It went summertime in the Netherlands this sundaymorning. The time is 1 hour behind.
Is it possible to select a time source ?
TIA
Hi,
I selected GMT+2...
This seems another fix for KiSS to be made...
Everybody has the same problem...
I got the right time wirth selecting a + 2 time zone.
I've tried a +2 time zone but with ET-BIG 2.8.3 firmware it always jump back to GMT + 1. So it's not working! Soory for my bad english but i can't think at the moment because of a huge Jetlag!
ET-BIG firmware is fixed on Time-Zone 1...
No luck there...
You can change it by altering the firmwarer, (if you can :-) ) and set time zone to 2 instead of one...
There's some info about in on the forum...
dunno where...
Look for Big's responses...

By default my FW has Timezone GMT+1. You can change it by editing with binary editor file romfs.bin in FW CD image. Find string "ntpclock 1 193.110.120.9" and change it into "ntpclock 2 193.110.120.9". That's almost all. You should also change MD5 sum for romfs.bin in file layout.bin. Just take modified romfs.bin, calculate MD5 sum for it and replace MD5 in layout.txt for romfs.bin file.
That's all for now. But I'll try to make it more flexible in next FW (in some way read settings from setup menu) because I've beed in need myself since in my country we also have summer and winter time and right now clock on my player is one hour earlier. :-)
Or you can use firmware from http://www.jacek.it.pl/kiss/
There is no "big" (I mean - large) clock there, there is a standard one made by KiSS and this one is configurable in the setup menu.

Yes - I've forgotten about it. ET has made newer version with KiSS original clock (smaller on left side of display). And this is configurable.
