WMV playback

Several threads have covered the player's DivX and Xvid format support, but I was wondering how well and most of all wich WMV formats it can play.
According to this arguably old post on anther forum the player doesn't support WMV7 or WMV8 and has trouble playing ASF. Could anyone confirm or deny this?

The Sigma EM8620L supports only WMV9. Since the LinkPlayer, Snazio, and Zensonic are all based on this same chip, they all only support WMV9. There is a possibility that the server software can transcode unsupported formats (like WMV7 or WMV8) on the fly, but the server software included with the Snazio does not do that.

Thank you for the quick reply. I suppose WMV7 and WMV8 are not based on MPEG4, but I noticed that almost all of my WMV contents are in WMV9 format so it doesn't really matter anyway.

On a sidenote, I noticed this program following a link from the download page: http://www.ezlinkng.com/, that could possibly stream unsupported movieformats to your player, has anyone tested it on the Snazio?

I have heard of EZLink here and there, but do not know of anybody who has tried it with the Snazio.
