View Full Version : Upscaling DVD's, I am confused

I bought this player for a couple of reasons, one of them was that i was under the impression that it plays normal DVD's upscaled to 720 or 1080.
After re-reading the review, that would seem that is not the case.

Am I right or have i made a mistake in thinking that ?

How do I view upscaled DVD ? Do I need to rip it my PC and play from that ?

Thx

Paul

Hi Paul,

By default the Snazio player will not allow DVD playback over DVI connection
as the CSS limitations apply on this unit. We have however released a code
which lifts this limitation so you can use the DVD's up to 1080i.

So the player can handle that just fine.
No need for PC and other stuff in between.

Should i be seeing much difference in PQ /

I have mine connected via dvi/hdmi and just tried the frightners DC R2 first tried it on my pioneer 630 via component and noticed slight improvement from RGB scart then in the snazzio at 1080i again a slight improvement, Then again i got the snazzio for streaming high def films which it does flawlessly only thing is once you watch a few i find i cant watch a normal DVD again LoL :-)
