The first time i connected my HDMI cable to dp-600 and my plasma i got the picture after a bit difficulties. Then out of no where i wanted to watch a movie and no picture where shown?

scart works fine but not HDMI. Installed the new firmware but this did not help either!!!

Now when i try to set the display connection to either DVI or HDMI in the setup it stands " Unable to locate HDMI/DVI"

Can anyone help me!?

I have tried everything. reseting to default. unpluging for 5 minutes.

Whats wrong

Sounds like an hardware issue but could also be the cable.
I had this message during test when selecting HDMI without the cable attached.

If your cable is fine and attached to Player AND TV, and still get this
message, I'm affraid you'll have to RMA the unit as then it would be a
hardware issue.

I think you must make the switch to HDMI as following:
- First choose HDMI display connection, but do not hit OK at this point.
- Switch the input of your TV to HDMI (or DVI)
- Hit OK on the KiSS remote.

In this way you should get the picture.
Without first switching the TV input to HDMI, I get the same message too.

@HI JACK...

Do you think that a later firmware could fix this HDMI problem!?

Have you tried what i asked first?
- Make sure it is attached to player and TV and both players are ON?
- Test cable with other device?

Loss oh HDMI signal is a bug in the player but it should come back up if
you first select something else and then go back to HDMI. If all that and
above does not help, i think it's a hardware issue... so won't be fixed with
FW then.

@HI JACK

Yes the tv and dvd are both ON.

I do not have other HDMI products to test on.

But i checked the HDMI/DVI cable and i noticed that the DVI connector have 1 pin that is abit shorter than the other pins!?? Is it supposed to be like that!??

thank you for your time!

@hi jakes and others.

Me too for the hdmi connection problem. Tried all combinations of switching inputs/poweron/poweroff... but the problem stays there... No sign of images on the hdmi input of my Philips 37pf9830 :(

Working fine (apart hdcp protected content) with 1080i component connection...

If you have tips... Thanx!

As far as i know there is no difference in the pins.
I assume your TV has the DVI connection only and no HDMI then?
Really comes down to test cable or try different cable with KiSS player.

Drakpz,
I don't understand your post.
You say you get no signal at all but still it is working fine in unprotected
content with 1080i over HDMI? So what is your problem:

- Do you NEVER get HDMI signal?
- Do you loose signal after reboot?

Hi-Jack:

I get 1080i signal using the component connection. Anyway, macrovision protected content runs only at 576p. No problem anyway with unprotected content (dvd backups and the like).

Never got hdmi signal yet :-( So i'll stick with the component connection hoping for a firmware fix from kiss.

I tried nearly every combination of powerups/powerdown and cycling through inputs. Black screen from the lcd tv. If I jump back to the component connection, the dp-600 complains about "no hdmi/dvi connection available" or something like that.

Even cycling with the button in the front of the dp-600 case doesn't solve the issue.

The message "no hdmi/dvi connection available" usually means there is no
connection between the player and the TV with the cable so it could either
be the cable or the Player / TV.

Hard to tell from a distance.

drakpzone,jacks,

I have the same issue, my player was working with hdmi before the firmare upgrade. Since that no HDMI signal.

I have tryed the projector (HDMI target) with my computer (which has a HDMI connector)..
I have no problem with the projector nor the cable.. therefore it must be a issue with the player.

Like for drakpzone my the connection with 1080i component is working fine.

I would like to rollback to the previous firmware to check if it is an issue with the firmware or with the hardware.
:?: hi-jack would do know how to roll it back ?

I bought it at surcouff (paris.haussman), lost my receipte, the guy at surcouf is not helping me...what can i do :roll: ?

hey hey hey!!! success!

I just came back home and re-tried the "hdmi trick" (choose hdmi as output on the dp600, switch input on the lcdtv to hdmi, and then press ok on the dp600 remote) and it worked!!!

I swear I did it yesterday many times, without success. Now I tried to shutdown and restart the tv and the dp600 many times, and it succesfully hooks at 1080i/50hz via hdmi all the time!!! great!!!

Thanx for the tip. Hopes that it'll help others like me :)

Now it's testing time for the remaining features :) :)

@hi-jack:

the opposite! as you suggested I:

- choose the hdmi output on dp600, and didn't press ok
- switched input on the lcdtv to hdmi
- pressed ok on the dp600 remote.

Waited a few secs... and voila'... it is working on hdmi at 1080i :-)

Bye
