Hi Jaykers,
Great to hear Zensonic is making progress beyound Australia now. I'm sure
it will be a success in the US. Keep us informed on the progress made
towards Europe as well as that's where most people on MPC are eagarly
awaiting the availability of the Z500, certainly now it does support ISO
streaming over network...
Great job done up to now... and still getting better...
regards
Hi-jack
Hi Jaykers
Yes, do let us know when it arrives in Europe, maybe then we can have REAL support from a manufacturer.
Maybe even firmware updates will be OPENLY discussed on this board without the SECRECY that we have with some other brands !
Hi
Yes, European distribution has been delayed by ROHS for the time being.
(Mentioned in another post)
We are certainly striving for you guys to get it and we want to have it out ASAP.
ISO and IFO is still experimental at this stage but I have seen it work very well on some files.

Interesting....I thought and I'm always probably wrong. That ROHS Lead free regulations effected, newly registered products. I assume you would already have got the CE mark. Assuming you got it CE marked back when it was first released in Australia for compliance under Austrialian Law, I believed products were excempt. Otherwise It would "bust" many a company in because of the redevelopment and retooling costs for existing products.
If you didnt get a CE mark...that would explain everything ? I would make total sense to wait up the next model for retail in Europe in that case !

ROHS is pretty much black and white in their guidelines.
This is quoted directly from the directive:
"We are mostly RoHS compliant but there is one part we have difficulty sourcing. Can we continue to use?
We cannot advise you that you can break the law. From the 1 July 2006 all products you place on the market must be compliant. You place non-compliant product on the market at your own risk."
This should answer you question.

The player that will come to Europe will still be the Z500 :P
This quote is from the actual directive itself, infact the FAQ, not from any corespondence that I have made to them.
