View Full Version : Best at displaying HD Pictures
Hi,
Which media player does the best job of handling JPG pictures?
Best job capabilities, in my order of preference, would include HD display, screen fill, fast (buffered) next picture loading speed, screen fill, zoom, pan, rotate, variable slideshow speed, transition effects, and random picture dislay.
Of course, the unit must be able to play music and pictures at the same time.

Usually the Media Players of today can only play Music and Pictures at the
same time if streamed from PC with the accompanie software, the so called
Media Server Software. none of the players can convince us of being "better
then average" especially conccccing Musi and Video. The main emphasis on
these players always have been Video performance and support.
I guess against the Roku HD-1000 which is build as Photo Device with DVD
Playback as well, none of these brands are capable of being compaired against that.
Enjoy
Hi-Jack
I was told by the Zensonic distributor that the Z500 can play music and pictures concurrently. But judging by your review, the transition between pictures is unacceptably slow. Is this transition buffered or does loading begin when the duration (slideshow) of the picture is up, or when the "next" button is pressed?
It does have (or will have ) slideshow capabilities but the picture section is
not tuned for the Picture enthousiasts like you sound to be. The Zensonic is
the best player in it's class as Home Multimedia Player but does still have
shortcomings, especially in Picture section which should be addressed in FW
updates.
They can only play concurrently with SOFTWARE from PC. The chip is not
capable of parsing high quality photos and MP3 at the same time from the
player itself, I haven't seen anyone doing that yet... It needs more
resources then are available in these players.
If your main target is Video with on the side music and pictures, Zensonic is the best.
If your main target is pictures, Zensonic does not Qualify as a choice at this moment...
lol
Thanks for the forthright reply.
Mike
