Now that D5 players are gone, what else is available? I have 2 D2740's which work fine, but you can only watch TRANSCODED files on 1 TV at a time. In other words, if you want to watch 2 different programs on 2 different players that were coded in anything other than MPEG, you CANNOT. I had people say you can, but that is only correct if 1 of the other streams is MPEG. My media server is a 3.06 gHz HT machine with 1GB RAM and ONLY does media serving, so it's not a speed issue. The 2 players are hard-wired, not wireless.

Now, all that being said, I would like to start replacing these with something that can expand to however many devices the ethernet network will allow. Ultimately I would like 4 different players being able to simultaneously watch programs. For example, I have 800+ TV episodes in Xvid / DivX on my server and I might want to watch Program A on one TV, while my Daughter might want Program B, while my Wife might want Program C on another TV. Currently with what I have found in the market, this cannot be done on any MediaServer Software / Networked Player on the market.

I realize that MPEG programs CAN be watched by simultaneous players, but the size of the MPEG files are 3 times or more that of a DivX or XviD and therefore cuts my library in half or more.

What new players are out, coming out, or currently exists that doesn't require transcoding of files and that would allow multple players?

Thanks for any and all help!
