No, off course not the brand but "the Pioneer" brand to come with a H.264
player first most likely. At IFA 2006, which MPC will attempt to visit Dvico,
the newly announced TViX 5101 will be shown, including support for the
latest formats. Yes, also H.264.

Based on the M5000U model, it will be expandeable with the TV-Tuner
Module APM-100. Storage space is not an issue as the choice is yours.
You can add a 3,5inch Hard Drive of your choice to store Video, Music and
Picture files, including ISO and Raw DVD. The TViX series is becoming "the"
Media Jukebox on the market and we might add, one of the smallest
"great' player in the world.

Also other products seem to gain interest in Europe like the M-3100U.
Do not miss Dvico at IFA or in the shops. It is one hell of a brand to keep
an eye on, ever growing on the EU market and they have slick tricks up
their sleeves to beat competition with ease".

Innovation the way it is mend to be!
Looking forward to meet them in Berlin soon!

Enjoy

As the topic says one of the most important items is still missing. Most ppl like myself want to get these media centers so we get rid of cabels and normal HTPC so imo the lack of WLAN is a big issue and really strange since all other brands offer it.

Althought the product seems very capable :)
The hard part is to choose one of the producs:
TViX 5101 (when its out)
Kiss DP-600
Z500 Zensonic
DVX-700 TransGear

Not as easy as it seems.

I am not sure who will become "pioneer" I already know 3 companies that currently working on the player with H.264 and VC-1 support.
(All base on EM862x series but with this feature btw).

But sow is one thing , stores is another - the release dates targeted to end 2007 , start 2008.

I can add some to your list...

Helios X5000 and X3000
Snazio Net Cinema HD and Net DVD Cinema HD
TViX M5000U

You can use a Home Plug if wires are a concern. The WLAN option is much
overrated, especially concerning HD streaming. Just ain't fast enough. Kind
of depends which way you look at it...

Enjoy

Where have you gotten those dates from? According to Crivens they are hoping to ship them out at “end of third quarter or fourth quarter at least” and I assume they mean this year…

Hi-Jack:
Thanks for the tips.
For each new model/brand the confusion increases but knowledge is power :)

I wish i could buy them all and test but i have to choose one so still not sure which is the one.

Most of them seem to do the job and i dont see anything out of ordinary with any of them that make them unique or even better or worst except for TViX M5000A which looks pretty cool but then again most ppl like me usually put the player in between a shelf which make it hard with this model.
