We admit Trans-Gear did not have a good entry in the market with the
first OEM model DVX-500, coming late and compete with brands that
where available already for months. With the DVX-700 however, they
made a great entry and the player has become embraced by many
consumers, including a reasonable amount on MPC.

Becoming a "new" customer with Trans-Gear is however "not" an easy
choice anymore, as Trans-Gear future products are no longer going to be
delivered to the European market which will make coverage of Trans-Gear
die slowly but surely. Rather you are concerned rather buying a DVX-700 is
still a good choice is up to you.

The good news is Trans-Gear products are still available until the third
parties have sold out their stock, Also the support of incoming claims on
repair and warranty for all units will continue said Rainer Wolters from
Nagase GMBH in Germany.

Enjoy
Hi-Jack

Hi there!!

That was bad news, what about Sascha? Will he continue or work for Nagase or go to another company?

Hi,

no problem. I am here at least until next spring/summer :-). And even if I leave Nagase GmbH / TransTechnology in the next year it doesn't mean that you won't see me here anymore.

Or can you live without MPC ? You see, same with me.

Warranty / Repair is covered as Rainer told Hi-Jack already. And you know that our products carry 2 years warranty. I still believe in the DVX-700 as it is a player not seen in the market from other companies. Of course here and there the firmware lags, but that's with all syabas based players. Some bugs can be covered, for others it is more complicated as they are in the hardware libraries from sigma designs. And the past showed that sigma designs is not the fastest in debugging their libs. we are now on HW Lib DCC 2.4.66 for quite a long time. We had one or two betas with DCC 2.5.xx but they are too unstable for release. In that newer libs even WMV9 playback has problems.

I hope I could clear that topic up a little bit.

Best Regards,

Sascha

H&B also tried to release a firmware with DCC 2.5.xx but it was not better ... so they came back to DCC 2.4.66. It's too bad that Sigma does not provide stable and optimized librairies, that's the weak point currently...

About DVX700, I agree that this player is unique on the market, as it can embbed a HDD. But the player is a bit expensive, all brands (Kiss, Quartek, Snazio, etc...) sell their HD player at high prices. With Transgear leaving european market, prices will not decrease as fast asI thought...

Hi,

But the player is a bit expensive

Snazi 1350 NL Price: €289,00
Kiss DP 600: ~ €290,00
TransGear DVX-700: €249,00

Did I get something wrong ?

Best Regards,

Sascha
