View Full Version : Zoom .. works fine with avis but not ripped DVDs
Any idea why?
Watching 4:3 material in avi/wmv etc.. I can use the Zoom button to make it full screen, when I'm playing back ripped VOBs I can't do that .. bug? Or feature?
It's annoying because my TV (Panny THPV500) wont stretch a component source it would seem :(
Thanks!
Adam
There is aspect ratio information in a DVD so when you rip it you must make sure that it is not changed since the Tvix just follows that info. Don't ask how you check/preserve the aspect ratio info. I have no clue.
You can however use the Zoom button and change to Zoom Mode. Then you can use the arrows to zoom in until you fill the screen well enough.
Parts of the screen is of course lost on the sides.
For me this usually ends up in black bars on top & bottom but less that in the standard Zoom.

...think the solution is to rip and encode all my 4:3 DVDs (mainly TV series stuff) and keep DVD rips for movies as they'll be in widescreen already.
Cheers!
