View Full Version : Cant connect to my dp-1500
I have been running my dp-1500 for about a year now without any major problems. But now i cant access my pc content via the KiSS!
I use Ezlink Manager.
1500 is connected to the router-via cable.
The strange thing is that the 1500 finds the local ip on my network-And finds the computer(server)-Even if the Ezlink manager is NOT turned on(!?!).
But when i try to access etc local video content the player just tells me to wait for the timezone to be set&the clock.
I have tried to flash to the original KiSS firmware also.-Same thing. Im using BiGs 2.9.3
Sometimes i get the message "NTP Fail" on the display.
Need some help here...
There is an EzLinkNG service running in the background probably which is zhy the KiSS finds the PC. if the connection is made between both devices, then there can only be a few items causing this...
1 - Firewall blocks connection (open port 8000)
2 - EzLinkNG Service need to be stopped en restarted / Reinstalled
3 - Another software PC-Link is running, occupying port 8000
(Installed any other PC-Link software tools?)
Enjoy

Hi-jackI have tried all of the suggestions above, but nothing...
Guess i have to reinstall windows-because theres nothing wrong with the KiSS player.(Doesnt find the pc-server with the cable disconnected)
EzLinkNG cant find the player-In my networked players.
Have to do with the vga cable at the moment.
Hi
Sounds almost like a problem I had. Try to switch off NTP and do not use DHCP to see if it makes any difference. The "NTP fail" it might mean that DHCP handshake failed and your player does not have any IP address.

In the setup menu (IP configuration) where you can configure DHCP client on and off there is also an option to turn on and off the NTP clock (clock on the front of the DVD). This is called Network clock in the menu.
NTP stands for Network Time Protocol and this is used for synchronizing the clock inside the DVD. Switch it off. Try also to switch off the DHCP client and enter a static address. For me these changes made all the difference in the world. I spent lots of time with a network protocol analyser to figure out what happened between the DVD and the router and I had lots of discussions with Kiss support. I guess the problem might be lousy design in the DVD in a combination with the "wrong" router even though Kiss support never confessed to this ...
This means that there will be no clock on the front, but since you probably have one on your arm you might survive anyway :)
