I am new in this forum and since a few days I have a DVX700 at home. I can access my PC with the TransGear Media Server. But the connection to my NAS (Synology 106) did'nt work. Both support the new standard uPnP.
In the configuration on the TV screen, i create a new server with server name and server ip of the NAS. When i try to connect, no menu is shown, only an error message or a blank screen. By default, the DVX700 add the port 8000 to the ip. After this, an error message is shown on the TV screen when i try to connect.
Is the problem here? When I configure the port number 9000, no error message is shown but a screen with no text is shown.
When I configure the port number 5000, then the login screen of synology is shown like in the browser. So, the physical connection is correct and work.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks a lot.

There are 3 possible problems you are having.

1 - Firewall, which is unlikely since the PC-Link is working
2 - The Service on the DS-106 for Media is not running
3 - Your PC Link Software is using port 8000 so the HDD cannot be connected over the same port. Close the TG Software / Service

Enjoy

I checked your propositions. It still not working ... The option uPnP is enabled on the router (D-Link) and on the NAS. I also stopped the service for der TransGear MediaServer on the PC, but nothing changes.
Any other suggestions ...

Thanks, tangekicker

Mediaserver on the NAS ist started ? No special user or group settings needed for connecting to the mediaserver in the nas ?
