I have DS101 for over a year and worked properly. I just bought DS106 and want to change a large harddisk into DS101 too.

After I have installed the harddisk (IDE 300G), and connected DS101 to the network, the blue light is flashing.

I have checked the manual and the message of this forum, all related recovery procedure have been done (e.g. hard reset, unplug the socket , etc). The blue light is keep on flashing and the network/ Synology Assistant also cannot locate the DS101.

I have consulted the local techniican of SYnology HK, they suggested me that to take out the harddisc first and turn on the DS101 again to see if the blue light cannot be off after 5-10 sec then reload the fireware.'

I have done but the blue light is still flashing, they advised me that the ROM of DS101 is broken and cannot be recovered. If I insisted to repair, they can only ask of management to replace a new one for me if the 1 year warranity is still valid.

Pls help, is any other method can recover my DS101. I think the problem may be related to my numerious hard-reset the DS101. Pls help.

Insert a deifferent hard drive and see if it works then (the old one).
Maybe the HDD is not supported or already has a partition on it. Make sure
you insert a RAW HDD only.

(Constant flashing means it can't load the system which if you inserted a
new disk can't be found as the system is not on the disk) or can't load
completely, because something is not coming up (HDD?)
