OK...yesterday the TVIX arrived. Looks great!!!

Disappointment after connecting the TVIX to my Beamer (Panasonic PT-AE500) using a DVI-Cabel (7,5m). No Screen!!!!....even after pushing the TV Out-Button at least 7 times.... :-( normally it should work with 1080i....

3 solutions possible: 1. it's the cable....it's new...maybe to long...wasn't too expensieve.... 2. it's the beamer: using a Panasonic PT-AE500...in the user amnual I read it supports resolutions like 1920 x 1080i (HDTV 50, HDTV 60) over DVI connection 3. it's the TVIX....!!!???

I tried component..no problems...

Do you have any suggestions??? First I will try another cable...maybe thats the reason....

First connect to a TV and see rather the TViX is functioning ok.
Then try the beamer without altering settings....

Ok...I got a new DVI cable (1,8 m) and connected TVIX to the beamer:

using TV out setting "NTSC 720p" I got a screen !!!??? .... all other settings there was no screen....

So 720p is one of the two commun HDTV formats (like 1080i)....in fact I don't mind which HDTV format I have because they are nearly the same quality....but do I have prolems now playing PAL DVD's !!!??? ..or is NTSC or PAL only important for TV programms....???

As I posted in a different thread, my DVI-to-HDMI (for my Panasonic 700 projector) from my TVIX only works at 480p.

720p gives a messed up image over my normal 30-foot cable, and over a 6-foot cable, the picture is horizontally compressed.

However, if I select 1024x768 (XGA), it looks good for photos, just not for DVDs.

I suspect it is my TVIX, as my cable (expensive, thick) will support 1080i when I was testing it a year ago.
